Mileage
Had to go on a 290 mile run today, so I took the Z-06 you just have to love these cars.. On the way there I got 31 mile to the gal, on the way back 26, had my foot in it a couple times..
I let the computer tell me, how accurate do you guys think they are on the mileage?
I did an actual fill up and refill calculation and the DIC showed pretty close to what it really was. I got about 14.75 in city, DIC showed 15.5. I wouldn't really trust it though. Do the old school trip calculation next time. I am really interested what mine does on the highway as well.
I've been thinking the same on mine with the LS7 and how off it is... I reset my tripometer during the last fill up... I just dont use my car that much so it might be a while until I fill up again. Normally the DIC stays in the 14mpg range.. this is driving very enthusiastically
These things get horrible gas mileage. Mine got 7.3mpg on a little trip in the country while I was visiting Leeds, AL.
lol, are you running a big block in there?

Mine is also a 427+turbos with many moments of full throttle getting the same mileage as you. At least I know there isn't something wrong. Always seeing stock guys getting over 20 city but for nearly double the HP over them I will grin and bear it.

Mine is a stock 03 other then some computer work, I only get 14 to 16 around town..
Leeds, AL is the home of Barber Motorsports Park. I reset the MPG just for fun before we started the weekend. That's what I came out with from a little over 2 tanks of gas in 2 track days.
It's an LS6 but the top end is all replaced. I'ts putting down 456hp to the wheels.

Mine is a stock 04, and with one simple trick, I improved my in town mileage from 16 to about 18mpg (12.5% improvement). My small town has a 35mph speed limit, and I drove about 40mph and set cruise control in 6th gear. That's it! at 40mph in 6th, the engine is turning about 1000 rpm, and the factory says it's OK down to 800rpm. At 1000rpm in 6th with cruise control I get about 18mph around town.

Ok... So I finally topped off my tank today.. Couple surprising results.
This is a LS7
Heads and a very mild cam
My DIC constantly hovered around the 14.5 range as stated 2 weeks ago.. After filling up today, 182miles and 12.7 gallons = 14.3 mpg.. so thats surprising on how close the DIC is.
But what surprised me more is the 14.3mpg... These were some hard miles. I must have made 10-15 runs that ran from 50-130mph. And lots of spirited driving inbetween.
For the heck of it I'm curious to see what this engine gets when my foot isnt in it so much... but I doubt I can ever reserve myself from this glorious beast winding up its potential
