I’m a bit confused they only made 547 pace cars in 98 with the MN6 six speed trans why change anything? Why didn’t you buy a base C5 and do whatever mod you want? You paid a chunk of change for a low mileage Pace Car, on the other hand if you mod it out I guess it just makes Chilliwack, and my Pace Cars worth more so mod away.
That being said its your car do what you want just wondering why.
I mildly modded my "old" '98 Pace Car.... but the mods I did looked like they belong on the car.
Great car! I love them too. I once saw a purple '98 that was not a pace car. Very cool as well. It was even for sale at a reasonable price but it had slight water damage and thus a salvage/rebuilt title. Anybody know someone with a purple standard paint '98??

My pace car, and all 98 pace cars have the paint code 21u (Radar Blue). The purple car your talking about has the 95u paint code (Medium Pearl Purple) I'm not sure how much of a difference there is in the two colors. I would love to get a picture of my car next to a purple vette.

That baby looks really clean!
I would not own one, especially like that, just cause I would not want to drive it. And then, I would not want to not drive it. So, I'd be in a quandary. I do like the looks of them though. I think that puts me in the minority. I'd rather have yellow wagon wheels than black CCW's. That's how much I like black wheels. But to each their own.
As to modding, I say go mod the hell outa the thing and just do it right. Odds are, with a nice car like that, you will. And I think a nice A&A kit, some brakes and suspension mods would be pretty trick on that thing. Shouldn't need to do any internal parts work to add the blower with only 4k miles. That'd wake that thing right up!
I'd like to save my pennies and do a 62' kit on mine. Not sure I'd cannibalize a pacecar for that though.
