80mph is a very common speed around here on some of the highways. Over that and you are looking for trouble...does not matter how fast I'm going there is always some dipcrap in a civic that is trying to outrun me. That's where it gets scary. I try to do my thing on lonely roads.
We all drove Arkansas Tail of the Dragon yesterday, and yes, there was some spirited driving going on! We had 15 in the group, and we put on a little over 300 miles. I had to laugh, I had a smaller cooler in the back, and it kept sliding back and forth, but when we got to the hairpin turns, the lid popped off, water was sloshing, and the road won, until I found a place where I could pull over, and secure the cooler. It was a great day!
23mph with active handling on and the car is pushing bad . . . 47ish with it off and it feels way more planted and lets me go from way hard left to zing off on one of the streets to the next round-a-bout.
The fastest I ever got pulled over for was in 1995 on a stretch where I hit 165 before shutting it down. The LEO's said they only got their car up to 125 before I shut it down. No ticket. Nice guys. No radar. The old military ID didn't hurt either.
