50th anniversary

But the Corvette brand mangers decided the car would be white, the interior, ... White! and then there was the Tornado wheels, once more the Corvette got white paint on them too. Matter of fact the only different color, or should I say non-color, was the convertible top was once again, a non-color in Black as were the floor carpets were also black. Now from the College days and art history, white is a none color and Black is also a none color, white having NO color in it and Black having all the colors mixed together.
Thank god that by the time the 40th. Anniversary model came around, someone in the brand managers office decided to use a "New" attempt at picking colors and out came one of the most beautiful color schemes I ever seen. Metallic red, or more detailed, it had a once in a lifetime burned into most of our minds, a crisp Red/Burgundy. Simply beautiful. Ten more years go by and the 50th Anniversary model with great fanfare, all beautiful women and a great unveiling, and we have the 50th model in Anniversary red. NOT a BAD COLOR. It is different from the 40th Anniversary model, but not by much.
I realize I'm boring all of you who ventured to read my stupid little post, But of all the colors available, they either pick a non-color or the go with Red, White, or Silver as in the 1978 Anniversary model. Chip Foose comes up with better colors while he's drinking his morning coffee. I mean what is it with General Motors? and now we get the 60th. Anniversary model and what color is it . . .
Wow, a lot of creativity there, . . .
Just my opinion.

Just my opinion.I think it would have been cool if GM would have limited the anniversary models (every 10 years) to white exterior/red interior similar to the first 1953 Corvette and only offered that combination during anniversary years. You could still have white exterior or red interiors, just not together. (Unless you're SFC Rick).
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I do have to say the $5000.00 extra spent by the original owner for the Z01 option was a "little too much" to pay for 2 or 3 special emblems and the white wheels.. !!! and I know I have to start looking for a new (repro I assume) steering wheel as mine is "flaking" ..
None of the Anniversary Corvettes were all that "special" in my opinion I just happen to like the "look" of the 35th
