Hot day, Cool compliments
Another hot one in Dallas, 107. Took the day to run some errands, drove 'Blackie' naturally.
Did the drive through at the cleaners and hopped out of Blackie. Young man came out and just stared. He turned and said, OMG she is beautiful! So I popped the hood. He stared again, and slowly asked if he could take a picture. He said his brother had just returned from Afganistan and they had always talked of getting a tricked out vette. I said sure, take the picture, and you guys can buy one of these for $20/$25 g's. What year is it, he asked? I told him '04, he just stared and said, no way, it would never sound like this one. That kid put a big Texas grin on my face, so I asked him bring his brother to join me at Cars n Coffee next Saturday. A 1,000 cars usually show up. They are in for a treat!
My next stop was to pick up a few pool supplies. On my way out a customer says, nice vette what year is it? '04 I told him, he replys, 'Looks brand new!"
I damed near scrapped both my ears off walking out the door.
