Steering wheel moan?
#21
I used Boeshield T-9 seems to last longer than WD40 also spray from the inside as the lube seems to penetrate better from the top

Mine comes and goes over the past years. Never have found the cause - sounds like a rubber part not lubricated rubbing against another rubber part, but it will go away for weeks at a time on its own. Once it starts, it will be chronic for maybe a day or two, then it is completely gone?

Burning Brakes
My 02Z is now making this annoying noise. It really does sound like a moaning noise very similar to the noise a PS pump makes when it's low on fluid, full of air or just failing. I've already confirmed it's not the pump and the sound is coming from the column area. The noise is non existent for the first 10 miles or so and only shows up after driving for a while. Before I start spraying lube everywhere mentioned above can anybody who has had "success" with this problem let me know what lube and lube points worked best. Thanks.

Burning Brakes
I've had this issue come and go. The last fix has worked wonders to fix it permanently. What I did to fix it was to accept the noise and embrace it in my heart.

This will fix it
Been there: actually I found mine and fixed it. I always thought in was coming from inside the car around the column. It really is outside down at the fire wall and under the brake booster. you can spray WD40 or some kind of lubricate around the bushings and might just stop your problems. Good luck and hope you get it to stop. I did finally.
Guide the tube to the rubber firewall bushing under the hood. Push it into the gap between the steering shaft and bushing. Give it a couple of squirts. Go out and do some full turns of the wheel both directions and it should be gone. WD-40 will evaporate and the problem can come back.
