Default Why did you modify your Corvette?

Why do people modify their fifth generation Corvettes? I presume More Power will come out ahead by a large margin. Sound and Looks will trail.

Why did YOU modify your Corvette?

UPDATE: I forgot performance. I hope I can edit the poll.

Because for $15000 I went from 360hp to 700hp.

You can't buy a $40k sports car that does 10.24 @ 140mph!

I spank 911 turbos, Lambos, Ferraris, and anything else in my way!

Most of the "mods" I've done were to add minor accessories such as a catch-can, additional cup holder, rear end cover, etc. I don't see myself doing anything to increase performance as it isn't cost effective. If I wanted a "hotter car" I would buy a Z06 and go crazy. Been there, done that back in the '70s when that was the only way to get a Corvette even close to its potential.

Okie

In 1968 I was 16 years old and I put a 30/30 cam with solid lifters in a 1960 Chevy with a 283. Me and my buddy put it in on a Saturday and then I drove it on a date that night. When I drove thru the strip of my town everyone was just flipped out over my car. I guess I just never got over it. I'm 59 and ever car I've had had some type of cam in it.

I'm an engineer. I have always taken things apart trying to figure out how to improve it.

I wanted to make something I could call my own. Stock is boring to me. I enjoy chatting with people about different mods, and learning something new about my car taking it apart.

My web site sure would be a small one if my car was still stock...

Mostly because I can, but, I'll say all, except "Looks from the girls." I've always relied on my charm, and testostorone to take care of the women....

Why? Because I needed to improve the areas GM didn't focus on.
