Default When you love something so much...

Waste of a thread but I just had to reitierate how much I love my C5 corvette. I loved my C3 and C4 but every day around 11am I jump in the '99 and run around town. Between b.s.'ing with the local politicians and law enforcement, handling bank business and seeing a few clients then grabbing lunch and heading back to work there is a constant smile on my face and remarks from nearly everyone I run into. Even the girls at the bank that are not "car" people.
I will admit that at 300 pounds some of them comment on how in the hell I get in and out of the car and then they laugh when I show them but I'm ok being the fat kid as long as I get to be the fat kid.
Driving this car gives me almost the same feeling as asking a senior cheerleader out and her saying yes except I get that feeling every day with this car. I think my wife is even jealous of it! Had to share.....keep your glass fast my friends.

Amazing isn't it?!

What's even better is that with every passing day, there are less C5s on the road. Which makes the really nice and well-cared for C5s get even more attention.

I'm a big guy too, but I find having to back into my car is more a result of decreasing flexibility as i get older, than a factor of my size!!

Also cuts wayyyy down on side bolster wear!!

The Corvette just has a way of putting a smile on your face. And certainly the C5 is very good at doing just that.

OPost, Glad you shared that feeling with us, the "General" would be doing handstands too. I have had a C3 and for the last 5 years a 2003 vert. that in all fairness took sometime to fall in love with (bad roads, bad drivers) but finally after all this time we get along fine and I couldn't live without her. My fine summer friend. lol. Greetings, Rob

I have to agree. Our stock 2003 C5 just makes us feel speacial every time we are in it. My wife drives it every day and she just loves it. We do have a sick exhaust on it but that is the only true mod we have. Sounds great. Best car we have ever had.

I bought mine last Aug. Drove it for 6 weeks, then the rains came. I bought it as a project. It was nice, everything worked, but at 13.0 in the 1/4, not near fast enough.

So I proceeded to take apart a perfectly good running car.

8 months later, just in time for the Oregon sun, it emerged with 150+ more hp, a new A4, new 3.42 gears, and a Z06+ suspension. Did all of the work myself.

It now goes low 11's, handles flat, looks great!

When I go out to the parking lot at work for a smoke, I look at my own car. They are just georgeous. And fun! I look forward to my commute, even if it's stop and go the whole 13 miles.

Yes, it makes me smile, and I am going to be miserable come winter. I won't drive it in the rain.

Thanks OP, good post.
