Default NTK O2 sensors

I have a sensor starting to go bad. Its throwing a code intermittently. Its just the part that deals with how fast the cats heat up and the computer is seeing that the air injection is not sufficient. I just had a tune and they said its common to need sensors after changing headers. They were already going bad, but the difference from the headers pushed them over the line, is how they explained it I guess.

I am interested in the NGK's NTK line of O2 sensors. I want to replace both pre-cat sensors at once as they recommended. Does anyone have experience with them? They are part number 21006 and a direct replacement. I have always liked NGK parts and trust the name. I use their spark plugs too.

My other option is Bosch, which is a brand I have not been impressed with over the years. Both sensors are OEM replacement quality and seem good. Any info or experience would be nice. Maybe someone has had trouble with codes from a certain brand or something, I dont know. Just whatever may be helpful information. Thanks.

Well I replaced both the front O2 sensors with the NTK ones. They worked great and are of good quality and a direct fit. I had no idea that O2 sensors are considered a maintenance item and should be replaced every 40k or 50k miles along with spark plugs and wires. They can bring back fuel economy and smooth the idle out much like new plugs. I recommend them to anyone in a higher mileage vette.

NTK and Denso, either one would be my 1st choice for any car. buy whichever of those 2 is cheaper.

i can't knock bosch o2's, just don't like the brand as much. their plugs aren't as good and o2's don't seem to last as long

o2's send a voltage feedback to the ecu which alters the short term fuel trim. if that signal becomes off from a sensor that just plain been exposed to hot exhaust gas for 10 years the signal won't be as accurate and your air/fuel suffers at part throttle

Ya, I studied them and learned allot about them. Glad I changed them out. I think I will do the rears too.

Great to know. Im replacing mine in a coupe of weeks with NTK. My tuner said my right front is getting lazy. They are OEM with over 65k miles on them. So I decided to replace both while I have the NGK wideband installed.

I ended up doing all the sensors just for maintenance. The NTK's were really good quality and went in great. They took care of my trouble code and everything has been great since.

The Bosch is what came in your car from the factory. I've had good luck with them as replacements also
http://www.bosch-press.com/tbwebdb/b...earch=0&id=337
The oxygen sensor, which was first developed by Bosch more than 30 years ago, is one example of the many Bosch products that reflect the company’s slogan of Invented for Life. Bosch oxygen sensors, which are supplied to virtually every automaker in the world, are an integral part of the engine management system and allow achievement of strict emission requirements and increasing fuel economy standards, while not sacrificing powertrain performance.

Nope, I have shorties and cats. Stock style set up.

If you are into the NGK's NTK line I have nothing but good things to say about them. The parts just look higher quality as well. I've been using NGK spark plugs and wires for years. Love the brand and I'm glad they make the 02 sensors too.
The part number for the shorter front sensors are: 21006, and for the longer rear sensors: 21537
I got them on ebay for pretty cheap. Even summit racing was almost double in price for them. (Corvette Tax!!! Look out!!!)

I have been getting the P0133 code forever. I have LTs with the rears moved to the front and the rears tuned out. What brand/part #s did you get and from where? Interested in seeing what your datalog says. I recently got an obdII reader and the O2 readings are confusing to me. Just curious what to be looking for there. TIA.

Default Denso OE 02 Sensors

Hi,

I purchased the following parts last winter 2 x Part#234-4104 = $119.90
and 2 x Part#234-4668 = $84.20, these parts were excellent value and quality, installation was easy and no problems since.

I was fouling out the Passenger side "ONLY" on mine and the Original AC Delco AFS 75 (GM 19178930) were still in there with 100,000+ miles on the O2 Sensors themselves -

Realize that you can even have one go bad without receiving a O2 sensor code!!! (I and others have had this happen)

Plus they have 735 RWHP Supercharged miles with Methanol Injection on them too!

I just put in the 2 new Front AC Delco AFS 75(GM 19178930) (I took pictures and will post them later this evening, these are a New and Improved design as well, instead of slices in the sensor tip they have holes around it instead) -

I will test drive it later today and get back to you on the difference!

Thats how the NTK ones are too. Holes instead of slices. Im sure that just going to new sensors has a better benefit than changing brand, but I just like NGK for my parts. It sounds like they are all pretty good now.

They definitely seem better and I can't wait to take it out in a while to see how much better or "IF" it indeed did fix the rich condition on my passenger side! This has happened to other fella's too and it turns out to be the O2 taking a dump or burnt to exhaust wires

Well, so far all has went well on the test drive with the 2 new AC Delco AFS 75(GM 19178930) O2 Sensors

At the point of driving it surely would have loaded up at the stop light and under cruising conditions, it was perfect!

if this is the case bosch probably isn't making them for delco anymore. all bosch sensors that i've seen even very recent ones are sliced. ntk/ngk and denso use the holes. would not be surprised if gm started using denso, they make a TON of oem parts
