I'm glad somebody actually made a thread about these tires. I have them on my cammed Z06 making ~415whp on a baby cam. These tires hook SERIOUSLY WELL. I cannot break 1st gear loose unless I rev it up hard and dump the clutch.
I got the 315/35-18 tires. A little wider than stock, and a taller sidewall as well. I notice a loss in handling (sidewall give in corners), but makes it up for hooking on the street.
This tire hands down an awesome deal for the dollar!

I have 335/35-18 on my 570wrhp Z06 and they hook pretty good at the track after getting them hot. Not as good as a full drag radial though. But I like them.

I currently have the Proxes TQ Drag Radial in 315-35-18 on my C5 making approx. 800 rwhp. At a recent 1/2 mile airstrip event, I could go full throttle without spinning at the very top of 3rd gear. This is about the same traction I got from my (shorter) 315-30-18 MT Drag Radials. The taller diameter looks much better on the car as well.
I had tried the 255/50R-16's and they were absolute crap, they might work well for a stock or slightly modified car... seems the 17 and 18 inch tire (and wider) are a better choice.......
The 255/50R-16's Hoosier hooks much better, I've managed good sixty foots with the Hoosier.

For all out performance, the hoosier is no comparison to the tq street/strip drag radial, but it will not last as long nor can it be driven when it's wet out. The 315/35r18 toyo held 2nd gear with 600rwhp in my buddies sprayed C5z and went 1.6s at the track.

I guess if I was satisfied with a 1.6X then I'd probably say they were a good tire too!
I'd expect a 1.3X all the time, when I spray ... I've already have a 1.37 N/A

You're an auto and he was not spraying out of the whole on a LS7 clutch...I'd say the toyo is comparable to the Nitto drag radial, which from my experience is inferior to BFG, M/T and Hoosier in that order. What's your best 60' with a man pedal?
No hate as fast is fast, but it is definitely easier done in an auto. If I only drag raced I'd have an auto in mine, but I didn't buy a vette for straight lines only as I enjoy the twisties and road racing as well

Not sure you want to go there either ... I drive my car almost every day and have over 140k miles on it!

Go where? You're definitely not keeping up on a road course in a stalled auto with 2 less gears, that's if it doesn't over heat lol...sorry op for going off-topic

Are you trying to say Automatic C-5's don't handle very well? Or is it just my C5 that doesn't? Are you ***UMING this because I go faster than you in 1,320 feet? Let me see ... I have Hotchkiss sways and C-6 Z06 shocks, I should be able to hold my own against you... with similar tire Yes, I do have street tires also but no roadracing tires...
No I have never road raced per se ... Found it to be way out of my league as far as $$$ goes. The guys I know around here that run for ECS racing would suck me into that in a heartbeat but, my personality won't allow me to do 20 plus event a year @ $1,500 a weekend. I would get addicted to it real quick and know I can’t afford to do it right!
You're only faster in the 60' because well you know not assuming...given equal tires and drivers(which btw I have way more laps on a road course than at the dragstrip and as you know with racing experience is worth more than the equipment, just last week I was driving/instructing in Lamborghini gallardo, Ferrari 599 and f430) you're car is still heavier, not as stiff and doesn't have as good of brakes or gearing...only one way to find out

All of this over a drag tire?
The original post is looking for the results of a Toyo (DRAG) Tire and now we're into road racing ...
I have never gone road racing so I would need to start out with the beginners
