Default HVAC help!!

I was doing the led swap and it was all fine until I plugged it in and smoke came out the back! Everything works fine except the back light LEDs which I put in but they all work fine if I hook a 9 volt up to it?!? Need help bc I leave for college Friday and would like to have this solved! I think it's something to do with the power board but I don't know!

Are you aware that LED's are polarized? Put them in backwards and they either won't work or fry something. Guessing you might have crossed a solder path but the only way to know is to take it apart and look

Sounds like you let the smoke of of it... Can't put the smoke back in I'm afraid.

Did you ohm check the circuit for shorts before you plugged it in ?

It weird I hook them up to a 9v they work and it works and everything in the car (except lights) but now I got all these ground errors so I don't know I may have let the magic smoke leave and just need a new unit or power supply?
