Default The End !

In the next week or so the new custom console will be here. And I think I'm at the END. There's nothing else to do, no gizmo's, no exterior changes, Nothing. It's the end for me. only way out is to buy another Vette.

BTW: How much do you estimate you've put into your Corvette ? I have a 2 inch file folder with every receipt on everything I ever bought for her. I'm a little sad at the thought at just driving her is the only future now. Now where is my atlas ?

My car's been finished many many times...until I get bored and find something else I can't live without.

Congrats! I am right there with you. I have one more pending mod (on order) and then I've reached my mod goals for my C5.

Funny because I've done a lot in 2012 so far finishing the mods and have spent very little time actually driving the car. That will soon change!!!

I've spent way too much. It may be coming to an end though. Finding out that GM doesn't support this car anymore takes my desire to own this car for a few more decades.

Less than $1k on audio, power, suspension and maintenance. I have no intentions of modding beyond this unless something goes bad/ smart shopping. Then I will replace with better.

Probably one of the cheapest mods for the most visual effect are wheels. Every year there are new styles introduced and surely the OP will find one that will stand out to him. Then he'll buy them and the fun (mods) will begin all over again!

I keep all my receipts too - I'd say right now, cost of car plus mods, has run around $33K. And I'm not done yet.

My reciepts burst into flames after 5 seconds of getting them. If I wanted a reminder of every silly thing I've done it would be a sad realization of how much cash I've tossed away over the years. If I were to guess it would be closer to about $150,000 over the past 7 years of playing with all my Vettes and Bikes.

I need no reminders!

...nor am I done yet!

You guys are crazy. It's only a car. It's not difficult to stop modding and have some respect for money.
I know that for a fact, I quit modding several times!!!

If I spent 55k on mods on my car, the Wife would have kicked me out long ago!

Bought her at Bill Heard Chevrolet in Sugarland TX for 49.900, over the last 9 years I've pumped in another $20K maybe $28K, so I guess it's around $59K ? But when I drive her it all seems well worth it. I do believe I have created a 'Unique' vehicle. One that the next owner will shortly come to the conclusion, "This guy who owned her before me really did some interesting thing with the Vette!"

Some people spend more on mods for their cars, than they paid for those cars when they were new. Some, several times over.

Not that I don't want to do what many of you have done....Believe me, there are plenty of high dollar things I would love to have....ECS supercharging system, high dollar A4 tranny, 3.42 gears (although I am ecstatic to have 3.15's & Z51 stock), but it is not a possibility for me at this point.

However, five minutes before I was writing this, I was sitting in my black, '99 1SC, A4 coupe, after having parked it from an errand run, sitting and listening to some serious AC/DC tunes finishing on my stock system, looking out over my seriously shiny stock C5 front end. And you know what? I realized that as much as I would love to have all of those pricey goodies, I am just so very lucky to be the very proud owner of one of the best and most enjoyable sports cars available today!!!!!! It absolutely ROCKS whether or not I am able to put goodies on it or not!!!! I still get a major woodie anytime I get to turn the key on it!!!!!!!

Yes, I want to do all of those fun things, but if I don't get to.....ain't gonna break my heart!!!!!!!! I still get major wood from it and an ear to ear grin the whole time!!!!! Not to mention the fact that my students absolutely love that their Business teacher is walking the talk by driving a major car while he is teaching them the fundamentals!!!!
