Well here's a few.

Laurie's favorite. Reminds her of the movie Ghostrider. Didn't do much for me.

Loved this truck at the Meguires spot. GO STEELERS!

I also love old race cars.

Laurie doing what she does best...texting her daughter.

Ok, I'm gonna just post a truckload of shots I took today. Needless to say, there were a lot of really nice cars there. I tried to get pics that would show the scope of the thing, but there's the hill in the center that really only allows you to get shots of the place from the center out.

If someone is not happy about me spamming the Carlisle pic thread with a lot of pics... well, what would you expect in a pic thread!

Yes we talked a lot about the weather, but it was pretty tolerable. Yesterday was a nice breeze most of the day.

The collection of C2's was neat, because they were all so different. That red one above was crazy nice as was a kandy apple red one I will post later.
Next year come out and do the autocross with me! My first time and I'm hooked!

For a person who's never been to C@C, or a Super Chevy event there, or any of the other myriad of events for that matter, it's hard to get an idea how big it is from people saying, "you gotta go there, it's really big!". Big to some of us is... well, not this big. As I mentioned, I wanted to do shots that would allow a person who's not been there to get an idea of the breadth of the event. But I could see that once I was there with my camera, there' really isn't a good vantage point to do a panoramic of the whole thing. In fact, even the shots I did take while making many moves between shots, still didn't show entire areas of the grounds. HUGE areas are not shown behind the grandstands, even in these shots. Huge, as in, 300 yards by 3/8ths of a mile, nestled in down in the hole behind the grandstands and between there and the treeline in the distance. All full of vendors and participants, and a huge parking area shown in the post #6 above by FenderMender. His first shot shows the grandstands from the far side of my shots, but it really doesn't show the several roads full of vendors stacked in there too.

I'm just gonna post links to these pics cause these actually are bigger files and it'll mess up the forum display if I post them directly. When you look at these and you see cars cut in two and not properly lined up, that happens because I had to move around to get views from different angles. I tried to align the images in the distance, and ignore the close up stuff cause it makes duplicates of stuff in the distance if I don't, and I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to exaggerate the size of the event! There's no need!

Carlisle Pan 1

Carlisle Pan 2

In the first shot, the right hand side of the pan shows how far in the distance Gate 1 is, but then as I made the whole circle, the left side of the photo shows that from where I got to, the entire area was again obscured. It would be impressive to get up high enough to see all of it and set a camera up with a tripod and do a proper job. Oh, and use a decent lens.. I don't have a good wide angle, so I had to use a kit-lens for these cause it's the widest thing I have.

I hope people are using a browser that allows them to zoom in on these... Resized isn't worth much.
