OK , going to wax the vette for the first time after new paint job. My question is what are you guys and gals using to wipe the wax off the vech. in order to not get scratches in the paint. I used to use old bath towels but they seem to leave little scratches in the clear coat. Thanks for any input on this from any and all CF members.
I use the soft micro fiber towels. I don't apply the wax/polish in a circular motion just straight up and down. My Vette is black so it's a real pain in the butt not to scratch.
I use the little 3 pack of colored micro fiber rags from Autozone. Just rip the tags of and they will be smooth enough to use for getting wax off. I buy these regularly as needed.
When they're all dirty you can just throw them in the washing machine and clean them to use them again. Just try not to get anything oily on them or it will leave oil streaks on your wax job, and the oil is hard to wash off.
Micro-Fiber. You can get them cheaply at Sam's Club and in volume. Washable but, DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER either in the washer or the dryer. If you do they are only good for wiping up spills and messes like a regular shop towel.
Another vote for MF towels. I purchased the double size, super soft MF towels from Adams just for polishing and waxing and then use the regular size MF towels for other automotive cleaning projects.

So, where do I get microfibers to touch them up with?
On a more serious note.
Years ago when I got my first non-metal body car, I searched for a good wax, and settled upon Rain Dance paste wax. At that time, it was the only wax that acted like an anti-static agent and kept dust from getting on the car. I have not been able to find the stuff since getting my Vette, and I am now out. Does anyone know of a place where this is available, or what other wax there is that doesn't make my car a dirt magnet?

Reason: Try to actually contribute something.
Check out the Adams polishes website they have videos on everything from washing to waxing and everything in between. Of course they are using their products but the procedure is the same. I have bought some of their products and they are good. I will eventually go to all Adams stuff as I use what I have up.
I hate microfiber. It's a huge PITA . . . I know I know, call me a godless heathen sinner but dammit a wore out terrycloth is much less abrasive, has better pick-up, cleans up nicer, etc. I keep my car towels separate from the laundry. Usually just wash in a bucket and hang dry. Not anything different than MF care but much much easier on me and nicer to the car IMHO.
