I decided it would be interesting to see what else is out there. Before i went to go take a look at my c5z, I asked the previous owner, "What color is it" and the answer came, "its a custom paintjob". And I just knew... When I went to look at it, it looked as though the guy applied his custom striping and curved 3 tone color patters in his back yard with a roll of duct tape and a paint roller. chevy racing plate bezels and floor mats from walmart, chrome garbage accesories, about as clean as that old pontiac sitting in your grandparents shed, missing z06 badges, etc...It was like a poor little puppy that had been neglected and beaten and needed a new home. All the while I thought, "HOW DID YOU GET THIS CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE". The price was right so I took it on, but it took about $4k to erase his glorious custom work- I didn't even take pictures of it because I was embarrased by it until I took it in for paint.
