Default Found and bought a C5

I had been looking around for a C5 for a little while and been thinking about one for about 4 months. Well last weekend i recieved a text back from a car i inquired about that was out of my price range. Needless to say, he came down to a price i felt good at. Good enough that i bought it before selling my C4. Its a 98 silver a4, had under 72k on it. The owner had slp muffled welded in. Its a weird setup but it sounds good so whatever. Its also got a k&n intake. Its kind of giving me the itch for some other mods. Im researching tb's, intake manifolds. I dont want to get to serious bc shes my daily, but a little more wouldnt hurt. Ill post up a few pics when i get home.

But be careful. Mod ideas usually flow like a fast moving mountain stream!

Im scared of that. In fact its part of the reason I bought an automatic. I thought i would be less inclined to mess with the car. The problem is, its already got the exhaust and intake. So i figure why stop there lol. I did ok modding my Mach 1. The only thing I regret was doing the throttle body because it lost cruise control. I had headers back on it. It sounded good, but after awhile I got tired of the noise. So for the Vette, I was thinking just intake manifold, throttle body, I saw underdrive pulleys mentioned somewhere, and get it all tuned. I dont want to go any further with the exhaust because it is loud enough as it is. Im still up in the air though. I have alot of research to do before I buy any parts. I still dont know what intake manifold, tb. I want to look into pulleys more. I need to find out what side effects of any these parts are. No idea of a good tuner in my area. Lots of research to do lol.

Very nice. Now be careful. There is no known cure for the MOD BUG. Once contracted it's impossible to get rid of. Not thr worst problem in the world to have.

Great year and great color.

If you ever entertain the idea (and many do) of doing a HUD install, do it. There are a few very good write ups, and it is a pretty cool, low budget (relative to power train mods) mod.

Me neighbor did that. I would really consider doing the hud. I drove one with it and liked it alot. Ill look more into it. Im not sure about taking the entire dash apart though...

I actually had fun doing it. The step by step instructions helped more than I can say. I had an issue with my "new" gauge cluster, and I can now take it (without disturbing the dash) out in less than 10 minutes.

I could likely do one now in under a few hours. This forum has step by step instructions (for many things) which rival, or are far better than any service manual.

Welcome to the C5 side, You will love the car.
Check to see if the old owner installed an LS6 intake, If not I would put that on my mod list.
Again, Welcome.
