So my 04 had a Vararam CAI installed when I bought it. I wanted to clean or replace the filter so I started doing some research and found out that my "filter" is really just some foam. So I'd like to replace it with a K&N style filter. Does anyone have any suggestions or part numbers? Is it a direct drop in filter or would I have to trim a seal anything?
I would just call Vararam and buy their rechargeable filter it is like 45-55 bucks works great I have 2 of them and just swap them out every time I need to cleam mine.

yeah...i plan to do that tomorrow. i just wasn't sure if there were options or things to know. the threads i had been reading were two years old and they were saying that even the filter from Vararam didn't fit. i was assuming (and it sounds like i was right) that they have gotten better over the last two years.
link didn't work. and i'm having some issues searching tonight, so i haven't found it yet. any advantages of the K&N? i've always used them in the past, but have heard some bad things recently (not filtering enough).
oh, and does anyone know anything about the amsoil one? my neighbor is an amsoil dealer, so i can get one pretty cheap. just not sure if it's worth it.
