Default Vendor comparison

Any differences between the two covers?

Vette Shop - current special ($59)
Appears to secure with 3m.
http://store-96134.mybigcommerce.com...t-kit-4-piece/

Corvette Central ($69)
Looks like it has centering lip and secures with velcro, appears to be more "rounded"

Thanks guys, any help would be appreciated!

Default For the life of me . . .

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would want to darken your tail lights. Once you get rear ended and the police are going to show up and write it up, there going to note that your tail light were semi obscure due to covers. Now do you want to know what your insurance is going to determine ? I've installed on my C5 the brightest and the pulsating third brake light. It only takes one teen texting and not looking what the light ahead is color wise. At 30MPH a KIA can do a Lot of damage for your vette. And any 'Carfax' is going to reflect the crash.

I know they look "Cool" but I think once they send you a letter stating that you violated your coverage but obscuring your tail lights. It's the same for truck drivers. When you leave the dock with a load, I don't think I've seen even one driver who didn't get out and walk around the tractor & trailer and make sure the pigtail is working and all the stop, turn and clearance lights are working. Cause if there not, the drivers on the hook for any damages due to driver neglect.

Fortunately, the law varies state to state. Additionally, both my Acura TL and F150 never experienced even a close call with overly-done black outs, as is the same for an ex's Civic... and my previous 4 motorcycles with the same mod. Light still penetrates translucent materials. For your own reference, there is minimal difference between translucent red (OEM taillights) and translucent black.

Taillights are not an excuse for lack of attention... if someone is texting behind me, my taillight shade will not affect the outcome. Thanks for your input anyway.

They do look "cool" and I am still searching for input regarding my post!

Hey OP, I'm going to have to agree with killain!

Take the time to really think about doing this. Most states, blacked out tail lights are illegal and cops just look for stupid little things to pull you over.

There are several other options you can choose from regarding tail light mods. Just a heads up but it's your car and your choice!

If you do still want to get them, my buddy has the Corvette central style, they look sharp. Stay away from the ones that expose the tail light screws, looks tacky

I know your not asking for validation or comment but I totally agree.....safety over looks never wins out. I know you may think the odds are in your favor but you never know and I wouldn't want to be the one that was involved in the accident.

Secondly, I don't think you're going to find to many Forum members that are going to get into a pissing contest to discuss two vendors pricing.

Thanks guys, I sincerely appreciate the perspective from which you are coming... but I'm not too interested in the input you are providing. I don't know how to say that without coming off in a way I do not want to, but let's agree that my op didn't ask.

Nevertheless, I am more interested in the PRODUCT differences rather than the pricing differences... so I was posting to see if anyone had input.

It looks like this was not a valid question to ask on the board, so I retract my OP.

Thanks guys, onto the future inquiries this c5-newb is bound to produce!
