Well, I hate to see another Brother in C5 Vettehood go but if you do go for the camaro, I hope you will still come around here... those where some great Latina contributions a few months back.
Considering selling the FRC and buying a 1969 Camaro and building it into a pro-touring style car......
Lol, been there and done that. Here's the question, how much do you drive your Vette right now? If it's a garage queen then you'll be fine. However if you drive it a lot then you might regret it. The Camaro isn't an everyday car, at least IMO, it's more of a weekend warrior. If you do the Camaro right and spend quite a bit, it will be fun to drive and will always hold it's value, but like me I hate driving it a lot. My Camaro sits around a lot almost to the point that it's not worth keeping. I mean don't get me wrong, when we take it out, it get's way more looks than any Vette I have ever owned, we are always getting people coming up to ask about the car. Here is our 67 below.
I have a 67, which only comes out on weekends. I have always loved first gen Camaros. Not a fan of PT cars, but hard to go wrong on a 69, regardless. For drive quality, the Vette wins 10 out of 10 times. For, "Hey, check that out...." it is the Camaro, 10 out of ten times.
To answer some comments.... Yes the Camaro will be my daily diver as is my Vette. I have NEVER owned a garage queen. Don't have that kind of cash and can't see why anyone would buy a car just to let it sit in the garage and only drive it ever now anf then. The Camaro will get some very nice seats, (better than the Vette has), anice LSX 427 0 454 under the hood along with a ton of other goodies !!
And don't get me wrong Quik Z06, your Camaro is nice but it's not a pro-touring style Camaro.
I love it when the Camaros look like this...
To me, that's SEXIER than my Vette !!

69 Camaro hands down. You can always get another vette, there a dime a dozen, 69 Camaros arent.
You can just about buy a new 69 Camaro these days,so if you have deep enough pockets any one can own one. Some would argue that with the cost of purchasing a 40 plus year old car and the mod costs you are better off with one of the new Dynacon bodies.
It's a win , win situation if you decide to sell, it's more FRC's for us!

No, no, no.... Not looking to drop $50 - $60K for someone else's project. I'm building my own ! And Dynacorn is just cheating !! lol.
I'm relatively new here and I don't know you, but my experience is reality never lives up to the dream. Talk to someone who already has where you would like to be at with your car. Chances are they will fill you in on something you didn't take into consideration.
Small example:
Seeing and hearing heavily modded pro-street style cars on the road always brings a smile to my face. After spending a great deal of time around cars and car shows I learned those cars aren't very fun to drive around town because of their gearing -- they're really only fun during acceleration. This was something I never even considered.
Must be something in the air.. I have 3 friends that have sold there Vette's in past year for 1st Gen Camaro's.... It's your money... Invest it wisely.
Go get a LQ9 - LQ4 out of the junk yard, rebuild it, throw a turbo on it and put it in the 69'.
If I had enough skills or time to do it, I'd find a muscle car era car and pro street it with new technology and drive it as much as possible You only live once.
Good luck!
Been there. Can be fun but does not compare to having and enjoying a Vette. Do what makes you happy and don't look back.

Once again... nice car, wrong idea. That's a "street / strip race car.
I'm wanting to do mine as a "pro-touring" style of car. Let me break this down for all of you that aren't grasping the concept....
Basically, the car will be lowered with 19x11's or 12's in the rear and 18x9.5's in the front, all the suspension will be redone so the car handles and rides the same as my FRC. Looking at an LSX based 427 or 454 stroker with a S/C'er, trans will be a 6-speed and the rearend will be a ford 9" with 3.57 gears for street / daily driving and a spare pumpkin with a set of 4.10 for the strip. Car will have full interior, very nice and comfortable touring / racing seats, roll cage, AC and a full stereo system.
