In Florida, I've seen a lot of these "Salt Life" decals on the back windows of cars and SUVs.
Since they sort of "jumped the shark" with these a few years ago, I laughed when I saw a similar-designed decal that said "Get A Life!"

Not against window decals, just not putting any on my 'vert, not enough glass surface area to waste!

My guess is Vettmann didn't mean to insult anybody but related the stick figures with the movie "Death Race 2000" as that was the first thing I thought of when I saw Vettmann's post. By the way, the movie kind of sux.
