Looks good. I hate how much you have to take off to get the gauge cluster out.

Those do look great. And I agree, too bad you have to take so much apart to do either the gauge faces or the bezels.

Did you have to take the needles off to get the inserts on? That is really my only concern about this. Getting the cluster out isn't all that bad really. Looks great by the way.

If you'll look closely, you will notice that everything is expressed in kilometers, not miles, including the 14K kilometers on the odometer.

The OP's got a brand new, old C-5!!!

If you look a bit closer its in both MPH & KMH, needles don't have to be removed to fit, half day job, took me a bit longer as one inverter didn't work had to pull it back out and just hook up 1 inverter.

look up extremevette he is on here and has been doing them for some time, does a great job, I can't give you a price depends on what you want I had mine changed around a bit to what I wanted and still forgot something.

They do look great Kim! Glad you didn't have any problems man. If for any reason you need that other inverter just let me know.

For anybody wanting a tip about needles. I just did a bunch of testing on the needles. They are one very weird odd setup to say the least. Bottom line...don't ever pop one out or even pull or push on it. If you move it out of its original placement, the chances you will get it back working and be accurate I would rate at less then 5%. The needles are pressure fit into a stepper motor that is basically one big wound of wire around a mini transformer with a hole in the center. The needle will push back in but there is something inside (either liquid or a magnetic field) that determines the "swing or sweep" of the needle. My feelings are it is magnetic. Because of this, if the needle is pushed too far in or pulled to far out you disrupt this magnetic field and the result is a needle that doesn't sweep properly. In addition to this, you can throw off the landing position (it needs to register 500rpms but yet is showing 1000rpms). Now I know what your thinking...just pull it out again and reposition it the amount of distance your off. Well I tried that multiple times. The placement is never consistent and each time you pull the needle out and push it back in you weaken its placement in the stepper motor.

So yeh...don't pull the needles out. Don't push them in and whenever your working around them...exert the utmost care. They are fragile little devices. The gauge faces do pop over them, just like I said...you have to be careful and not be a bull in a china shop haha.

Sorry, I can't give any selling type of information on these as I am not a supporting member yet, but I can answer technical questions on here. If anybody has any person questions PM me...more then happy to help anybody out.

As far as the cluster goes...really guys? If I showed you how gutted I have had my car over the last month you all would be like

No dash
No seats
No carpets
No center console
No cluster

Basically no interior
Start to finish on removing of the gauge cluster...I can do in less then 30 mins now and that includes removing the center console area. The C5 I have to say has been one of the most straightforward cars to work on and Iam not a mechanic by trade. Shoot I don't even own a set of air tools.

I was referring to the number 300 on the "speedometer" with both MPH/KPH, at the top center. My stock speedometer has 200 on it with both MPH/KPH, top center, I think most stock ones are like mine.
