I installed my CAGS last week from compliance parts, all went well easy to install. Thanks Richard for a great part. Few questions though. After the install I checked for codes, had none, and like instructions sai start car and test drive. Started the car and let it run a minute or so and shut it until I had time to test drive. Yesterday went out to start the car and the battery was dead as a door nail. Fairly new battery so I charged it for a few hours. Fire it up and check engine light would not go off. Loosened negative cable, restarted and same thing. I once heard remove negative cable for about 5 minutes, then reconnect and it would reset something or another, don't know if that is true or not or if it even pertains to this car. What the heck, I was just going to convert it back to stock and see if it went off. I had completely removed the battery to make getting to the connectors much easier so hoping for some luck I removed the negative cable completely this time instead of just loosening it until the engine compartment light went out and let it sit for about 10 minutes while my wife hounded me about screwing up the car. Hoping for the best I hooked it back up and the light went out and stayed off so removing the cable must be true. However anybody know what could have drained the battery? I assume it had something to do with the engine light or something. I have it charged and will see if it is ok next weekend.
Wow.... I put mine in the other day and had no issues at all. I removed the battery for easier access and so the hood light wouldn't remain on. Did the "cut" method, put everything back together, fired it up and took it for a drive. No codes or issues. Haven't started it again since then but now you have me wondering. If other members offer a solution, great. If not, I'd wait til Monday and call Richard. I'm sure he can help you diagnose the problem.
Not having a problem now that I know of. Just wondering what killed the battery and if anyway the engine light being on could have had something to do with it. Engine light is off now and I will see about the battery staying up at the end of the week.

I unplugged my engine compartment lights. Every time you open the hood with engine off it does drain battery.
Installed a bypass fuse from Corvette Mods <www.corvettemods.com> and my clunky 6-speed turned into a sweet-shifting piece of equipment. Only problem: Engine light comes on and stays on. Put stock 10-amp fuse back in - back to horrible shifting tranny but no engine light. Contacted Corvette Mods & they sent me a 2nd fuse ... same result. I'm taking my '07 C6 to a mechanic friend Friday to see if he can figure out why engine codes are unhappy. Can anyone shed any further light on this issue? I notice other posters are talking about a part from another source to solve this CAGS problem (and it IS a problem - makes the transmission shift rough, rough, rough). It might make the government happy, but I have to find a way around that 1st to 4th crap.
I had the same problem. Like I said my light would not go out either. Pulled the negative cable, let it sit for a few minutes, fired it back up and it went out like it should normally. Since it was a Saturday evening and nice out I was going to convert it back since I would probably not find any help that time of day. You have a quick change, mine is more involved but no big deal. I have heard removing the negative cable will reset the computer but I don't know if there is anything to it but it worked for me. Give it a try, you're out of nothing but your memory settings.
