Default Should I paint.......

..... the centers of my CCW 505a black? I know this may start the infamous black vs chrome/polish wheel debate, but not my intent.

When I installed the TPEs I purchased the Boyd Coddingtons with c6z offsets. On a C5, C6z spec wheels stick out about 3/4" on the fronts. I was considering changing the offsets on the fronts and I needed new tires in the rear. During my search, I ran across a forum member selling his CCW 505a with the proper offsets for a wide body conversion. No sticking out in the front. So I pulled the trigger. Also this gave me the 13s I wanted out back.

Not sure how I feeling about them yet. Considering painting the CCWs centers black and leaving the lip and barrels polished. What cha think?

Your car to me is one of the ones that stand out on this forum. I say leave em as is... This coming from a Black CCW wheel to a polished/chrome HRE..

OH1Z06's car immediately came to mind with the black CCWs. I like this look, but only with the pinstripe separation between the center and the lip. You can't go wrong with leaving them polished either, that's a timeless look.

I have been wanting to get a set of 505a's and have the centers painted in gloss black, but I haven't seen any pics. I'd give it a go right now, but I keep buying parts for my engine. Hopefully I'll have the new heads and cam in by the end of the month and can pic up a set next month and have them done.
If anyone on the forum has pics let's see 'em. If not, I'll post pics when I get them done on mine.

After searching for some pics, I don't think you can go wrong. Full polish, full black, and black centers all look great. I'm liking the gunmetal centers too...

Another vote for leaving them the way they are.

Right back at cha, your car inspired some of what I've done. You and member vetfeva2's conversion from black to polish/chrome got me looking at polished wheels. So some of this is your fault, I am trying to keep up with the Big Dogs

The only example I could find of something similar to what I am thinking is this, I am considering keeping the inner barrel and lip polished.

Imo, I would not paint the centers. If anything, I think the painted spokes of the wheels would look nicer if they had just an accent line in the center unpainted. Just something to connect the outer ring with the center. But, my opinion is worth what you paid for it.
