Mine hardly made a difference at all. I even wiped the seals and struts with lube per the instructions. You have to reuse your factory screw which leaves fewer threads to engage the plastic trunk and mine didn't even come with a washer. If you tighten it down too far, the spring just pops out. The plastic cap on the end of the spring has made numerous attempts to escape. Overall I'm wholeheartedly unimpressed. For what I paid, I expected better hardware and more thought put into it. I totally paid the Corvette tax on that one.

I just bought a stiff spring from the hardware store and put a rubber stopper at the end lol i think it cost around $3
After I put silicone grease on all the joints mine generally pops up unless it has been sitting for a long time. then you can hear it slowly unsticking itself from the gasket.
After seeing this, I immediately went down to the garage to investigate. Bending the kicker spring didn't lift the deck lid any higher. I don't see how it could- it is limited by the spring's "keeper". I lubed up any and all relevant joints in the hinge system, and cycled the lid a few dozen times. It is smoother, but the lift is only marginally higher. Im wondering if the ten year old little gas pistons are showing their age in our Zs... Kinda like the hood pistons on the C4s...once they lost their gas, the hoods became difficult to open easily. Just my $0.02
