HVAC display
Couple lights on the stereo.
Have a new window glass for the scratched drivers side
Have a stock air box to install.
TPMS removed...don't know that I'll ever replace them.
Finish what I didn't already repaint..Tonneau, rear bumper cover, mirrors and deck lid where I messed up putting the emblem back on.
I've already fixed a lot more than needs fixing. Bottom line, I could live with most everything but the HVAC. I started an S10 drag truck project that is going to eat most extra time.
Fix random C1217 code that disables traction control, active handling, etc.
Oil pressure sender
Paint the roof/deck lid due to vandalism
Retint the windows
New windshield
Previous list items I've completed:
New clutch
New brakes
New shocks
New fuel pump
New fuel filter/regulator
New plugs
New wires
New valve springs
Flushed brake fluid
Replaced torn seat cover
New exhaust and intake (ok, not really needed... )
Overall, I've done most of my list items and I'm about to cam the car as a reward to myself.
... Yeah, I know. I was shocked when I found out they were tube amps too. The car came from Florida and the owner used to bring it to audio shows and win a bunch of them with clarity and clean sound, I guess.
Do any of you have a monetary line that you draw when it comes to repairing and fixing things? Like, my fix-it list is short because I leave out a lot of minor things that I can live with (like fine scratches in D/P windows..wear on the vert top by where the window used to hit it when the prev owner closed the door..a few small tears in the seat covers...etc)
For me I'll try to fix a few things every year in order to justify spending the money on the car (aside from maintenance stuff, that goes to the top of my priority list) .
I'm sure if I were to try and fix everything on the car I would end up spending more money than if I just sold it and bought another one that doesn't have those problems
LOL. Exactly. I was actually in the market for a new stereo system for my living room and happen to come across this car....and figured what the hell...it's a moving living room....I'll take it!!
I have my 2003 C5 6sp vert over a month now; I've replaced the pads and turned the rotors, all fluids changed, replace struts on trunk and conv't lid, fog lamp relay, 3pc air dam, installed MGW shifter, new floor mats and will put in a new hood liner next week. I think(hope) I'm done. What a great car!!
we think alike
2002
fix rear hatch seal
take off wheels and install chrome rotor covers
polish allot of stainless steel
wax
need new rear tires
need all new TPSs
need new battery
replace all white bulbs with blue LEDs (AC control already done)
etc.
1998
replace subwoofer
needs a polish big time
paint some under hood panels
check into decreased supercharger pressure
fix leather on driver's door
put new red letters on passenger's air bag
etc.

Now you're catching on!
You're saying I just need to clean the tracks?
Don't even need to clean them really. The grease dries out and becomes glue. It just needs some lube in there instead. I have not done this on a Vette, but other vehicles I've done it to don't give much room to get in there and "clean". Thus, I just added some good white grease and called it a day.
You'll think, "wow, brand new motors again!".

First time I ever heard of them in a car. Your amps may have more retail value than my car! Hehe.

LOL!! Thanks for the info. So just put some white grease around the edge of the window and work it up and down? Did that come out wrong? LOL
Alright, I forgot about the hvac display and the security light. I just see all the electrical things and it gets overwhelming. Next time I get home, my wife's honey do list will have to wait until I straighten out some of my cars problems. Especially since she gets to dd the 08 that has no issues. (I always get the hand me downs) She drove the 99 for 5 years as a dd before I got it full time. In her defense I needed to drive the suburban during that time so I couldn't dd the vette. The next vehicle upgrade is mine!
The wiper thing and the oil pressure sender are the first on the list. All the traction control, abs, and active handling malfunctions are really no big deal.
And about the front tire, I do go faster than that. If it wasn't such a new tire I would replace it but.....
I need to install the HID low-beam kit I've had on-hand for about a month.
I've been sitting on mine for much longer. Read about some issues with them maybe not being very dependable and really don't want that. Still waffling on the installation.
1. TCS Code 1214U just hit hard! No ABS or TCS at the moment. The biggest issue with this is that the friggin alarms and warnings will run you out of the car! OK! The TCS and ABS are down! I GOT THE MESSAGE! A MILLOIN TIMES! Sheesh!
2. Pass door lock relay is inop. A minor annoyance.
3. Clutch makes lots of noise and getting worse! 37k but it will be replaced this winter with LS7 parts!
I have recently Installed HID Fog lights and C6 shifter and a few leather interior pieces. Also added the flush mount kit to the tail lights!
I do have to say at this point the C5 is much more temperamental than my hotrodded C3. (Who's temperament is typically based on temp and pressure) !
There are lots of things I would like to do like exhaust, intake etc but the two steps back conundrum keeps slowing down the train!

That might turn into a cleaning issue down the road. I'd prefer to take the door panel off and just stick the stuff inside the window tracks. But, now that you mention it, sticking it on the edges of the window might also eliminate unwanted drag. Those windows might work better than new with that grease all over!
Might even pick up an effective 10whp increase by greasing the windshield while you're at it!
- replace fuel filter
- rear differential fluid is dirty/contaminated. Perform service.
