I'm trying to decide between a red or black, and how it looks along the Red engine covers, help me decide, thanks

Red will be much darker than the red fuel rail covers. I went with black, blends in. No pics, sorry.

It really depends on the look you're going for. The Black is almost hidden, while the Red looks great, but is more visible.

What is a catch can and what does it do. Are they necessary and what is happening if you don't install one. How much do they cost and are they difficult to install. Thanks

We went red on my C6Z. I removed my covers since we have a FAST 102. The catch can matches my EWP.

Elite Engineering makes a great product. The catch can will eliminate oil from entering back into your intake manifold. Oil can cause detonation. It's a great bolt-on if you run your car hard.

A good catch can from RX or Elite will run about 160 dollars. They are easy to install, took me about 45 minutes since i had to bend the bracket a little and make sure the hood would shut without hitting it.I did not use any hose clamps since the hose is a snug fit and is not under any pressure.Seems the LS engine design routes crankcase ventilation into the intake thus some oil will get into the intake with the vapor. The catch can is supposed to trap the oil droplets and only let vapor thru.My Z06 had 23k on it and when i cleaned the throttle body i looked into the intake and it had some oil film on the intake floor. It was not too bad since the car was not run hard by previous owners.I installed a can for the sole purpose of keeping ANY crap out of the intake.I will drain can at next oil change an see if it works as advertised.
