Just put my car back together after a clutch install. 2003 Z06 fast 90 lg street long tubes stock mufflers monster 3 light weight clutch. Drove the car roughly 7 miles and the car drove flawless. No codes no problems. All the sudden I lost throttle control/response and the engine died. No codes nothing came on. Start unplugging all the tb m/a intake stuff and plugged it back in. Nothing. Kept looking and couldn't find anything. Got in the car it starte, worked fine for a mile then had a little issue and it stopped then made it to are destination. Eat some food. Went to leave and made in 200 feet then the car died. And now the car is sitting n a parking lot and have to go get it in a little
How dare you think such cruel things after I just did this 13 hour clutch swap on my garage floor!
And ill be getting the car back to the house today and taking it apart for the 10th time and see if I forgot a ground or to hook up some wires or if something happen when I took the starter out to get the headers in
I finally got the car back in the garage. Im going to check that 10mm bolt first then its on to pulling the exhaust off and looking at the starter. Also all the sudden my low oil light is on but dip stick says full
Also is there any plugs above the transmission I might of forgot to plug in that could of caused this? Im leaning much more towards a ground issue since the car drove perfect for a few miles and no the car wont run for 2 seconds
So I found some wires that were partially melted together. Had them pulled apart and fixed. Started the car and idles good. So I leave my house and made it a mile. Car dies. Figured we would reset the tb. The car idles for 6 minutes. Turn car off then back. On. Car drives 200 ft and has problems and dies. Re did the tb reset. Car idles fine for a few minutes. I touch the gas and car dies and now is back to the same problem of it runs for a second
i would look into the wiring more.... did some of the wires burn on the exhaust? I would take it all apart and solder in some new wires where the burned ones are.... usually you will find more damage when you take it all apart....
Was looking the car over yesterday and realized the fuel pump wasn't coming on. Found out the pump is still good but ran out of time after racing the wire all the way to the fuse box under the hood. So now we have to trace the wire from the fuse box to the pcm. Personally I think I fried the computer when a wire grounded out but just praying for a pinched wire. Will figure it out this afternoon or sometime friday
Well stupid me forgot to ground BOTH of the ground wires that are just above the oil filter. So all problems have been solved and I am currently driving the car.
