my c5 came with Kooks long tubes, off road xpipe, and pace car exhaust. the intake was a varrarram. other than a short throw shifter and c6 rims the car was stock.

That car sounded wicked. I have videos on youtube that don't do it justice.

The car would pull on stock corvettes pretty good, and got a lot of attention.

I just recently got a C6 which was all stock. put corsa sports on it..sounded ok...just not the same....

threw some Kooks long tubes, with catted xpipe and sounded better..but still not the same....

Just put on an offroad xpipe to delete the cats. I think that they are really keeping the "sound" from getting out

won't know till I finish putting the supercharger on.....been a hell of a project for a guy with only jackstands and enough knowledge to get into trouble :P

I will tell you this.. I did notice that in the c6 I will now chirp the tires when I go into third gear around 78 mph. to have a car chirp in 3rd to me is awesome

You will only see Hp gains of about 10-20 hp with Long tubes alone. Sound yeah,,but you have to get an xpipe and mufflers also......not a great deal for the dollar to hp ratio IMO.

But the Lt's are what I call a "stacking" mod.

if you get more air in, you will get More Hp from the Lt's being on getting the air out.

If you supercharge you will get a lot more HP out of the car if you have Lt's.

I'm sure you've heard that an engine is just an air pump..more air in, and more air out, more HP.

Once you take a stock manifold out and put it up next to a Kooks Longtube..that's when it all really makes sense. I can send you a pic if you like :P

Haven't read through the whole thread but has anyone mentioned the O2 sensor switching issues and the need to run higher wattage sensors up front(which sometimes does not solve the issue)?

I am jealous.... Here in Kalifornia,,, it is illegal to install long tube headers, per smog inspectors. Since we have a s/c,,, I would love to have a nice set. I guess I need to move.
