Great post. How does the HUD look with the non HUD windshield? I found a place that sells the whole kit including the dash pad for $400.00. I'm going to pick up the kit and install this weekend. I just sold my 75' convertible 4 speed after owning it for 15 years. I've wanted a C5 since they came out so I bought a 2001. I Really like this car and don't miss my 75' yet but I wanted the HUD option so....

I dont have alot of miles on my car since I completed my install but am pleased with the way the info projects on the non HUD windshield.
Hopefully some other members can post up that have had to replace there stock HUD glass with the non HUD windsheild to let eveyone know if there is a substantial difference, as I think I have read that the HUD glass cannot be had anymore.
Good luck with your project

Thanks! The kits are pulled from parts cars. I'm picking it up Friday. I don't want to give out names until I know all is good. I'll post all my findings and info after I check the place out.
You will like the hud. I had to repl mine back in the spring. Not a big of a deal as you would think. I also recommend doing the aluminum gauge bezels while you have the dash out. Cheap mod that looks really cool, especially at night.
Thanks for all the replies. I just got done installing the HUD in my 2001. Took about 3 hours. Looks great! Bright and crystal clear. I bought all the parts including a HUD dash for $400.00. A company near by parts out cars and has 2 or 3 left. I'm sure it would be cheaper if you use your own dash. I do know the HUD dash's they have left don't have all the mounting ears. I guess it's common that they break off. I didn't break any ears off my dash though. Now I'll try and sell my non-HUD dash on CL.
