Just want to Wish all my fellow east coasters good luck with Hurricane Sandy.
NJ got hammered last year with Irene, and some folks here are still cleaning up. so best of luck....Be Safe land dry.
Driving to work this morning, I got on A1A, and the sand and ocean water got higher and higher. The road was closed just ahead of me, where I could see the sand over two feet high. Going to need a good cleaning when I get home tonight.
This storm has horrible timing. My coworker is running the Marine Corps Marathon in DC on Sunday and I'm supposed to be flying down to Florida on Tuesday. Hopefully it will end up being over-hyped.
In central Jersey and hoping for the best since we are a bit inland. Cape May looks to take the brunt given current projections. Stay safe all in the path.
The funny thing about hurricanes...they're entirely unpredictable (which is why it was so appropriate that historically they were always given women's names). You all might get by entirely unscathed.
Here's a historical example: recall the biblical 40-days-and-40-nights flood? Well that storm was, in fact, only a local event. Midland, Odessa and Junction, Texas all just got a trace.
