I saw similar vinyl decals on Vettestripes.com for $35 and available in red, grand blue, silver, and yellow. Just another option for those interested.

I was considering them myself, but not sure yet. Painting seems the cheapest, but masking would be tedious.

Actually no masking is required, just a steady hand with a small brush.

Do you end up with a even silver sheen that way? My experience with metallic paints you apply with a brush is that you sometime see streaking. What kind of paint did you use? Would scale model paint (the kind you'd buy in a hobby store, intended for plastic models) work? Would another kind of paint be better?

Steady hand using a silver paint pen is how we did mine.
