You will be fine. Just don't hot rod it. I doubt you will even notice a difference.

as long as they engine isn't under heavy load it should be fine. weather is also on your side. this would be much more dangerous in 100deg heat

You can run regular gas and the car will compensate for it - but you will most likely see a degradation of power. Keep your foot out of the gas pedal and you'll be fine until you can fill up with premium.

I've always thought of doing this on long road trips. I'm at low steady rpms anyway, then refill it back with 93 when the tank goes empty

Don't worry about it too much. Like other people have said just keep your foot out of it. Being NA you shouldn't notice it near as much as someone driving an STI or and EVO especially in colder weather.

I've thought this too, but I never know when I might stumble upon a nice stretch of empty highway.

Regular Octane Boost will not make it like 91-93 Octane - when it says it raises it, say, 3 points - what you get is 87.3 Octane - very misleading indeed!

And do NOT put extra in because it will only slow the burn rate of the furl!

Your best bet is to leave it and drive till the next fuel up or find a place that sells a real OCTANE Race fuel additive, like TORCO that will indeed raise your Octane to higher than 91+ Octane!

Thanks,Matt

My understanding has always been that other than a VERY select few (Torco is the only one I know of), octane boost is a waste of money.

For most of you that replied in this thread, how do you know what will or what's going to happen if you haven't used 87 octain fuel in your Corvette???

Just asking out of curiosity, how would you know? And how can you pass on a valid opinion without first hand knowledge?
