Alright I see most of you'll really don't care for the windshield logo , so what is the mind set out there on the Skull ( jake ) logo on the C5 ?

I've never cared for the Jake logo, but then again I'm not a fan of the skull and crossbones on anything.

Personally, I don't see why so many are enamored by it.

I can appreciate the history of the Jake graphic, but I don't want it on my car.

But then, I don't like stick figures of the family, three letter identifier stickers for the ritzy resort I frequent, or anything stuck anywhere on a painted surface either.

I also think it's more in line with the C6R vs. the C5 generation. I wonder if Jake will be carried over into the C7?

Good question ! From what I've researched and read over the past few days the logo started at the end of the C5 generation and has carried over more with the C6

The first time I saw Jake was with the C6R racing team. I've seen some modifications to Jake that incorporates the C5 logo/flags, however I don't remember ever seeing Jake during the original C5 production run.

I may have just missed it if the Jake logo/brand was created before 2005.

concept was developed at the end of the 2004 season, but wasn't implemented until 2005 season so its a c6 that got its berth from the c5r.

IMO i like the logo, kinda takes the old man stereotype out of the vette (me being 18 i have to defend it a lot!) and gives a sinister racing feel, but id go for an exhaust plate or something subtle for a c5.

That's right ... I had given it a thought about a black Jake logo under my Z
Logo but after reading some of your thoughts I think I'll leave it alone

I have a Jake logo with the C5 flags on the center of the hatch glass - looks OK but I'm not tied to it being on the car.

Speaking of ricers, I visited my local AutoZone store this afternoon to pick up some fluids and fuses for my DD. I ventured into the "Accessories" aisle and enjoyed a good laugh. Now I know where all those fake chrome, skulls with red eyes, and chain license plate frames come from.

I actually saw a stick on carbon fiber hood scoop for $49.99. For that price, you know it must be good!

I agree but I do like the Vette community because it brings a diverse population together and you can't say that about many things.

I love the Jake logo, on my toolbox. No stickers on any vehicle I own.
