No, you don't want dual springs with the stock cam - you want beehive springs. PAC 1518 are a good option if you need to replace them. What's the last 5 digits of your VIN? With a 2003 model, you're really only at risk if it's less than 09000.
Yeah, don't get the dual valve springs. PACS are fine, but you can get the stock GM replacement springs for about $60-80. The new ones shouldn't give you any problems.
I replaced my stock springs at 40k on my 03 with the new LS2 blue springs. For a stock cam with mild bolt ons I think they're fine. Best insurance policy for the money for your ls6.
I like the 1518 better than the 1218 simply because they are nitrided. Truth be told, you can use the 1218 and have no worries while saving $60. https://sdparts.com/details/pac-racing/pac1218
For the piece of mind, I just had my valve springs replaced with new (blue) OEM LS6 springs.
I was going to order a set of PAC springs, but realized that when/if I decide to upgrade the cam, I would be replacing valve springs anyway, no matter what springs I had in there. So for now, I couldn't justify spending the extra money on PAC/aftermarket springs if I may be doing a cam swap later on.

It all depends where you live. Labor rates seem to be higher in CA than the rest of the country. My grand total was around $450 (parts+labor+tax). That is with all new OEM parts: LS6 valve springs, valve seals and valve cover gaskets.
My local Chevy stealership quoted me $800-$900 (parts+labor) for just replacing the valve springs.... I thought this was a little ridiculous.
