I am new to this forum and hope someone can help. While installing Hypertech programming on my C5, the car battery died mid install. After replacing the battery and attempting to continue programming, nothing. The Hypertech displays that it is looking for communication with car, but hours later still doesn't make any progress. Car will not start at all. Is there any way to return factory settings to ECU??
First of all, it sounds like you need a new battery.
The Hypertech is VERY sensitive to low voltage--you can't have the radio or anything else when programming. Make sure the battery is fully charged or new. Then disconnect the battery for at least an hour. Turn off all accessories, HVAC, iPod, radio, dome light, etc. and try programming again.
Good Luck

Hook the programmer back up and program it back to stock by selecting stock settings. If that allows the car to run then you can go back and reprogram for performance. If return to stock is not available just run the performance program again and see if it will start. If neither way fixes the problem make sure the security light isn't on. If security it set try letting the car sit with key on for 10 minutes to reset security. Turn the key off and try to start again. If none of the above works, the programmer corrupted the PCM program and you will need to have the PCM reflashed at the dealer of send the PCM out for a mail order tune. Some tuners will send you a tuned PCM with a core charge until you return your PCM to them.

I have replaced the battery and re-connect the programmer. It does not give me any options to return to stock. It says programming interrupted and will continue, but nothing after that. I did notice the security light, among many others, is on. I will try your suggestion to turn on and leave it on and retry. Thanks for the help. I will let you know how it goes.

Good luck - hope you can get it reset without having to take it to a dealer, but even if you do, it should only cost around $50 or so to have them reflash the PCM.
