Thanks so very much for taking the time out to share your photos.
You have no idea how much this helps me to learn my car in those hidden places that I just can't see.
Thanks again, please continue to update us on your progress.
No problem. I will continue to update the thread right up to the very end. This is the first I have ever worked on and have already learned a lot! If there is anything I could do to help with any questions you may have feel free to shoot. Thanks!

It has measurements in the 3 volume shop manual from GM.
Here are a few updated pics. Went ahead and pulled the quarters and rear bumper. We will be repainting the entire car when the new front clip is installed so I figured I may as well get started pulling the body parts.
So you removing all the body panels ? To prep for paint ? Are you going to paint them off the car or on ? I did mine off the car ... Pm me yor email ill send you some pics of project that I did you can check it out if you got time it was fun I tell you that .... I think I can take the vette apart with my eyes closed...lol .. And abou the work stuff yeh we came down to pikeville to do some work for Adams family I'm sure u heard of them , people say that they own like half a pikeville ...lol
Yeah I am gonna paint them off the car. I have some widebody quarters for the rear so they needed pulled anyway but I think it will be much better to paint off the car to make sure everything gets really good coverage.
Piddled around on the car a little yesterday. Hadn't done much with the holidays and traveling a lot lately. The engine is finally starting to look like an engine again. Tore it down to check everything out and installed a TSP 220R cam, LS2 Timing Chain, Melling Oil Pump. Got the heads back on it today also. They are PRC 2.5 243 heads milled .020. Will have the Fast intake on today and should have everything buttoned up on the engine and move on to other things.
Couple pics of the shortblock before we pulled the balancer.
A good trick while you have intake off is to run some RTV around the knock sensor boots so that water does not get in there and short them out (P410 code). A common problem with LS1 and LS6 motors. LS2 & LS3 motrs knock sensors are mounted to the block.
Thanks for the info! I will be sure to do that before installing the intake. Bought a used fast intake and I'm gonna repaint it before installing it. Thanks again for the tip I really appreciate it.
This is great. I was fortunate to have restored the 1967 coupe that I have now with my Dad back when I was in high school. It's something that sticks with you for the rest of your life. I learned a great deal from it too in addition to getting to turn wrenches with my Dad.
Thanks for doing this with the pictures. It's fun to watch and you never know, it might come in handy sometime if I were to find a wrecked Z like you did. Keep it up.

No problem, looks like a fun project, wish I had time to dable more in the hobby but between work these days and the all of the house repairs I can barely find time to sleep. Hope to get caught up on the house stuff here in the next couple of months, seems like we hit the 15 year mark and everything started breaking and needed fixing at the same time on the house.
Sweet, looking forward to seeing the progress and finished product!
Thanks. I will be updating more next week.

I really enjoy working on these with my dad. We have done 3 Mustangs and this is the 1st Corvette. It is different as daylight and dark but we have already learned a lot on these cars.

That's the way it goes with everything going down at once. When it rains it pours right? lol Hopefully you will get caught up soon and be able to enjoy the things you work on.
Great to hear from you big guy!! Looks like your project moving along ... I need to do some work on mine to just don't have the time just like you said I have the same problem with my house but mine only 6 yrs old my washer started acting up I think I took care Of that and now my heater up in the attic stopped working plus on the top of that Im still working on my "honey do" list :tiling the kitchen, putting stone on the fireplace building some cabinets ...there goes my mod money ...lol But my wife told me soon as I get done with her stuff I can do what ever I want ..lol... Will see ...so anyway ... Have fun
Ah the honey do list lol...it is never ending seems like. We are getting some stuff done. Got to repaint the fast 92 before it goes in but that's no big deal. Really enjoying working on this car though. Getting anxious to drive it though since I have been driving my brothers C6 6speed lately. These cars are a blast to drive no doubt.
Well it's been a while but finally got back to work on the Corvette some in the last couple weeks. Here is what is going on now. Swapping in a 30 Spline Mainshaft in the trans and will be upgrading the rear after that with new shafts etc.
Thanks I appreciate it. Got the engine back together so we got started going through the rest of the drivetrain. Can't wait to get it back together and road ready.
