I never noticed any codes on mine. Must be an info code.

I installed a Recaro seat in my previous car ('06 Mustang) and had to remove the harness and a couple sensors from the stock seat and leave them plugged in to keep the CEL from coming on and allow the air bag to still function.

I looked at my stock seat quickly and there is a harness and electronics unit that can come out pretty easily. You can try taking those out and plugging them in to see if the code goes away. If it does, just leave them in the car like I did on my Mustang.

let me repeat myself for those wanting to install after market seats. There is no check engine light. All there is is a no communication code for the power seat module(?) because it isn't plugged in. It would be the same if I unplugged the Hvac controls on the dash, the computer would see that it isn't getting any feedback from that and say no communication. I guess I could take the module out of the power seat and plug it in and zip tie it under the aftermarket seat, then the computer would pick it up and think everything is fine.

Love my A4's...the car felt "new" after getting rid of the ridiculous stock seats. Chevy should reimburse us for such a crappy seat design/life, IMO.

Wish I had an extra bag of money laying around. I'd buy some Apsis seats.

Motojb,
Did you have the no communication code for the seat module?

That bag of money would only get you one Apsis seat!

You shouldn't have any error codes. I am 6'0 and got the shaved seat option but would still be ok without it. Make sure to shim the seat rails with washers for additional rake before you install. Enjoy

I got my seats this weekend and have installed them. It took me about 3hrs total for both seats. All is good but one item is troubling me. When I yank on the seat belts real hard they do not seem to lock anymore. I know the driver side did as I had recently had tested. I can't image its the disconnect of the electronics as the passenger seat also has the same symptoms but had no electronics.
Also I wanted to mention that I am 5'10" and did not get the shaved option. I am good with height in these seats with or without a helmet.

I just let my body push against the bolsters and while they hold me in place I'm free to keep my arms and hands relaxed and concentrate on the road and the car. Unfortunately, you almost have to experience it to know what the difference is. It's quite hard to put into words.
Best of luck in your decision. The good news is you can always sell them if you don't like them.

There's a locking mechanism in the factory seat belts which lock with 'sudden' forward momentum/inertia. I have noticed the same but I tested my Z's along w/my Yukon SUV....both reacted the same.

YES YES and YES !!!!! I'm 5'10 and my helmet touched the roof. I had the the seat shaved an inch and I'm not hitting the roof now!
