Default Corbeau A4

I am interested in these seats but am concerned about the airbag hookups. Have the people who have installed these, comfortable the airbag is connected and working? Does Corbeau provide the connections or do I move them from my old seats? Also if I'm 5'10" should I consider the shaved option? I will be wearing a helmet occasionally for HPDE events.

My Z06 seats do not have any air bags in them. Waiting for my A4's to arrive within the next week.

Air bags?

There are no air bags. Only thing I can think of that you could mean otherwise is adjustable bolstering...which C5 seats also don't have. Only the C6 seats had that, and the A4's don't have it anyway.

Neither do mine, but wondered if they affect the airbag in the steering column?

They aren't related to the steering wheel airbag whatsoever. It will function normally.

I installed some a couple of weeks ago. The seats have nothing to do with the airbags. You will lose the seat memory option, and power adjustment. Also the seatbelt light on the dash won't light up since the seat belt buckle wire won't be hooked up. Other than that, it's probably the best upgrade up can do to one if these cars in my opinion. The car drives totally different. I definitely would get the carpet from Walmart and some spacers for the install. The carpet hides the bare spots since the aftermarket seat brackets won't use the factory covers and the washers really help with the angle of the seat bottom. When you first install them you may get a funny feeling about them but once you adjust them to your liking and drive around for a couple of days you'll live them. You have to kinda get the old seat feeling out of your memory and get use to these for you to fall in love. I feel like I'm crawling into a race car everything I take the car out now.

I am in the process of setting up a 01 Z06 for street/HPDE and was wondering 1. Cost of the seats 2. Are they comfortable for street use as I plan to drive to and from events.
Thanks

The Corbeau A4s are a great seat for street driving. I've got a bulging disc in my lower back and I make several 4-500 mile trips in my car every year. The seats look great in the car and really let you push the car. I mentioned it in another post, but it crazy how relaxed I can be behind the wheel while pushing my car hard through a corner. I just let my body push against the bolsters and while they hold me in place I'm free to keep my arms and hands relaxed and concentrate on the road and the car. Unfortunately, you almost have to experience it to know what the difference is. It's quite hard to put into words.
Best of luck in your decision. The good news is you can always sell them if you don't like them.

They are more comfortable than the stock seats in my opinion. As MStrahan mentions, the back support is much better than stock. I ordered the lumbar support option (inflatable bladder) on the driver's seat and have never needed to use it. I regularly drive 2 - 3 hours to and from track events and also have a bulging disk issue except it's in the middle of my back.

I have had mine now for 2 months and am kicking myself in the *** as to why i did not purchase them a LONG time ago... I am running the Leather A4's, shaved base, dual lockers... $1300 shipped to my door. Danny @ AssaultTech is where i purchased mine.

"My back feels good, and my bottom feels good"... ( quote from some cheezy pillow commercial) lol....

I was able to sit in a demo A4 at a local Corbeau dealer in Atlanta and feel good about them. Only thing I would wonder for anyone over 5'10" and 180lbs if they would be too small? According to the vendor the wide verson does not fit. I am going to order a pair of cloth with double sliding locks delivered for $920.00.

If you like the stock seat height, get the shaved base option. I wish I would have done that with mine. I get only about 1" headliner clearance when wearing a helmet. I'm 5'8" 190lbs. You should be fine.

Did you guys get any codes after switching out seats? I did, it's doesn't matter to me and assumed I would considering I went from a power seat to a manual seat

When you say you get codes does that mean your check engine light has gone on after the A4 install? That would be a problem for those of us who have emission inspections every year.

No check engine light. But when I read the codes on the dash, there is no communication to the power seat because it has been removed. I wonder if there is a way around that? If I remember correctly it seems like it took a couple of days before the computer picked it up.
