What brake pads do you have? I can drive my car for a couple of hundred miles before the dust is real bad with Hawk HPS pads.

Real bad to me may be awful to others.....

I never had a dust problem until I put Ceramic pads on. Now it's dust all day.

Try putting an auto paint sealant on them; could also try a wax but the sealant will last longer. At the very least it will help with cleaning.

That seems a bit unusual to me. I've had ceramic pads on my '98 for years and get very little dust on my aftermarket chrome wheels. To the OP, I just use a damp microfiber towel to wipe off my wheels. I wipe them down every time I drive my car. I also have several coats of DP Wheel Glaze on them, which makes wiping them off a breeze.

Prior to me, the dealer put new semi metallic pads on. They were just like you describe.

I replaced them with ceramic pads. Night and day difference. After several weeks the wheels still look clean. Another bonus is that they stop better too.

(I had a similar experience with my Charger R/T also. Tried semi metallic and switched to ceramic due to dusting)

Just the opposite here. My stock Z06 pads were bad for dust. I put on the GM ceramic pads and not much dust at all.

I just use the Zaino Z8 detail spray to clean up my rims.

What about the dura stop GM pads? Also, any brake noise with the ceramic pads?

Ditto on Wheel Wax! Got blk wheels w/ceramic pads & dusting doesn't seem to be a issue. Remember reading in a NCRS magazine a tip to use Pledge on seats & dash never tried it on wheels. B4 I got the ceramic pads I used to use a damp soft cloth w/Windex.

Thank you very much !

These are the pads I have (Front and Rear)

I don't "race" my car as its just a cruiser around Dallas.
I have never had issues with stopping VERY well.

If I were to go racing I would get a "racing" pad.

I use a dedicated California Car Duster Mini for dusting wheels. Anything more than dusty I use alcohol-free Sparkle glass cleaner and microfiber cloths.

A friend recommended Armorall Wheel Protectant. (?) I think that's the name. Anyway, after wheels are clean and dry, you spray it on and let it dry. (VERY fine mist). Seems to work.
