Default diagnosis help please

So I was just going through the gears on a local highway and when I shifted into third it got completely stuck. No PowerShifting was done.

I had to pull over to the side and turn off the car. After some light tugs and everything it finally came out of third. I left it for a little to cool and then started jt back up. It now goes into third fine.

Any ideas on what could have happened?

Thanks.

Car is a 03 Z06

The slave cylinders on these cars have a tendency to give issues, try flushing your clutch fluid.

Has power shifting been done in the past??
I had the same issue but it got stuck in 4th at a stop light it turned out to be the infamus 3-4 synchronizer keys they are just stamped steel pieces of crap that break off and jam the shift ring. Billet steel keys are available I went to The Gear Box .com parts were very reasonable but trans removal and total disassembly is needed (I did it my self in about 6 hrs total but it was not my first time pulling the rear cradle). My car did it when driving easy also but the damage was done drag racing.. Hard shifts in a C5Z do two things they break the shift keys and also can and will loosen the harmonic balancer from the crank they are not keyed but pinning kits are readily available, ask me how I know LOL My car drove fine after the I got the shifter to come out of gear I almost did not worry about it, but I did a search and found out about the keys I was very glad I fixed it, 2 keys were broken and parts were running around in the trans loose.......

It has not been powershifted since I owned it. I cannot speak for previous owner.

Anybody that can powershift a M12 must be a gorilla. Mine's got such a hard detent through the neutral gate that even really fast shifting is difficult. Yeah, I've done the A-V mod, changed to RP, and got the newer MGW on a C6Z06 box. However, it's possible to damage the parts listed above, if you don't have a late run '03-newer.

I"m not that big a guy but I have been drag racing stick cars since I was 16 and I'm pushing 50, What I do know is all the road racing purists cringe when they hear me shift or when the ride with me cause I beat this thing like I hate it.. My thought is if I can brake it it is not strong enough.....
My car has mildly modded m12 with a MGW shifter and I have not had any issues since I put in the billet keys, brass pads and steel forks. 1100 miles or road racing and 1500 miles on the street and 25 or so drag passes.
