Hi
I recent purchased a 2000 black convertible. I need to purchase tires for my new toy. I read on this forum that a lot of you like the Michelin Pilot Sports All Season tire. Michelin has two versions. A run flat and a conventional tire. Which tire have you been buying or recommend I should buy.

I just replaced the Goodyears with the Michelin PS A/S runflats. The improvement over the GY is instantly noticeable. Completely happy with them so far.
I have Michelin Pilot Sports with the run flat option and I like them a lot - the major problem that I've experienced is any change 1 lb below recommended pressure sets off the low tire warning readout. Other than that they've been great - wear and handle extremely well. BTW - they are on an 01 coupe.
Put Michelin PS A/S ZPs on 4 years ago and never looked back
The OEM GY runflats with 90% tread turned my 98 Vert into a toboggan with 1/8" of snow on a straight and level road going at 55 MPH. When they wore out looked on here and found a lot of C5 owners using the Michelin Pilot Sports.
Difference in the noise level, handling, and lack of seeming like I was riding on concrete tires was unbelievable.
A lot of people go for el cheapo. \
You get what you pay for.
Mine were road force balanced on the original wagon wheels and still look new after 20K miles.
I understand that my tires are no longer in production but Michelin makes a similar runflat Pilot Sport. Guess that's why GM puts em on the ZR1 running more than 100K.
I had the Pilot sport run-flats on my c6 and was very impressed...I just put Hankooks on my 04 coupe and was equally impressed at half the price. You decide
HI
Thanks for your replies. I ordered the run flat tires from Sears. They are on sale and I got another 15% off by using their credit card, plus I will get $70 rebate too.
Many of you said you liked and or loved the run flats, so I went with them. I guess I will find out next week if it was a good choice.

Got the same ones. First time running Run Flats and Michelin's. Love them and I would buy them again!
Several years ago, I replaced my BF Goodrich (non-run flats) with Michelin PS A/S ZP run flats. It was like getting a new car. Less noise, much much better handling and ride. If you ever drive in the rain, you will love these tires! I would say non runflats EXCEPT one time in my Lincoln LS I had to change a flat on the freeway right next to the fast lane....
I may have to try some of them when my Pirelli winter 240 SOTTOZERO tires wear out. My 02 Z06 is a daily driver in the Seattle area. I had Proxie's before and they didn't work well in cold rain. These Pirelli are great! The info on them said they work best below 60 degrees...I could almost use them year round here! $285 each at tirerack
Waiting for a set of bfg's comp2's, hope I did okay, quite a process , there are so many opinions/uses out there...Almost purchased Michelin's., but no new "ss's" avail for the stock sizes. The ps2's seemed quite a/s type thread, but sure get great reviews.
hope the new bfg's are pretty quiet., have to be better than the g. y. emt's.

Reason: spelling
The AS/ZPs are a good choice for where you live in MT. The PS2 ZPs are a summer tire and if you're going to do any winter driving they are not a good choice.
