I've been sitting on the idea of some new wheels for the new year. I'll still keep my ccw's and all but just want a set of black wheels. I'm leaning towards the ZR1 18/19 black combo with a red pinstripe. But have also considered the black Spyder 18/19. If anybody has pictures of your cars with these wheels can you please post so i can get a good image in my head. Thanks in advance
Your CCWs are money, but I would guess you're bored with the look.
Honestly, I do not like the look of an all black wheel. IMO, there needs to be a contrast where the rim meets the rubber or it just looks like a black hole. Consider getting something with a polished lip if you go black.
Almost thought I mistakenly clicked into SW regional after viewing the first few post.
I disagree respectfully about getting the polished lip on a black rim. You get black for a sinister look, don't muck it up with a polished lip, especially on a red car...maybe okay with Silver as it will pull the color scheme together better.
Also I always felt the polished lip ended up making the rim look smaller overall, which is counter to what I would want. Just my .02
Looks really good. I'm kinda glad nobody has posted a z06 c5 with the zr1 wheels. After a call today with a vendor here, I'm really considering them. Seems you don't drive around here too often and see them on cars. I love my CCW's but I just drive the car more often now and Houston weather and streets suck.

I agree with your philosophy on the sinister look. It's a style that many have taken on. I'm certainly in the minority when I state that I don't care for the look. From my perspective, and mostly from pictures, the wheels and tires, as a whole, just disappear into the wheel wells.
I also agree that the polished lip would accent a silver, gray, or black car as well as a red lip or stripe would look better on the OP's red car to compliment the matching color.
But I disagree with the thought that any contrast on the perimeter would make the wheel look smaller. I would think that it would actually define the wheel size and the profile of the tire. But that's where the opinions differ. The ones who want that sinister/murder look, I feel, don't want that definition.
Im in the same boat. Been rolling the OEM MAG wheels for awhile now. I have a Torch red and want a set of black wheels too. I am looking at the TSW Nurburgrings though. I think they are sexy as hell on the C5. But to each their own right? Never have been a fan of any of the CCW lineup...

Same here. All-black wheels lose all perspective: Lip depth, tire profile, etc. Might as well just paint the wheels you have.
I don't see the issue with the black or Crome look
Which I own both , the Crome from the prev . Owner this debate over rims goes on all the time ... I have to agree that the Crome does look badass ...
The Black on the other hand gives it a devilish look what I don't like is a car that has been blacked out with Crome wheels if your going to black it out then black it out

I really like the red pinstrip on the lip of the black wheels on the red car in the photo above....Better than all black in all respects, and really accents the tie in between the wheel and car body, without the boldness of a polished metal rim....To my eye, its a great balance in the overall look. On the other hand, the polished rims look great on the silver body with black wheels...
I ran CCW Big Street Classics for a few years and changed it up to CCW 500's when I did the flares. I liked both but probably like you, just wanted to change things up. I do agree with the comments about leaving the lip polished. I think it looks much better. Just my $.02.
