Well had to take the plunge last week and have the clutch overhauled. the car only has 15k miles which made the pain even worse. But today I awoke to the sound of music. My phone rang. And it was the most beautiful voice saying, 'sir your car is ready' and in my mind he sounded much different than he actually appeared. However that didnt matter. I was off to the races. Kinda like the first day i got her. And now I am at home on a freaking monday night hitting on a computer. My outlook hasnt changed much since bringing the car home on a saturday night, its just the wrong day to be getting the itch to go show it off.
What did you have replaced and what did it run you $$$$$$$$$$?? What part of the country are you from? I'm trying to gauge cost from west coast to where you might be. My clutch isn't grinding or slipping, but it releases on the high end compared to most.

The master and slave. and the metal tubing from the fluid reservoir. cost 1700. My cars clutch dropped to the floor and kept sticking in gear. had work done in beaumont texas
Id be lookin at why I lost a clutch on 15000 miles. You the only driver ?
No kidding! I'd be very concerned as to what caused such a premature clutch failure. These clutches can last well over 100K on a properly street driven C5.
It's amazing to me what some members come to consider normal wear and tear. This isn't a Ferrari. It's a Chevy.

1700 for a set of cylinders and the hydraulic line?
I had the dreaded sticking clutch, and they replaced it for free with about 15000 miles.
When I first took it in they denied knowing anything about it, but I'd printed the bulletin and showed them, stinkin' stealerships.

The orange texas chevy dealership refused to work on it. They didnt even have an outside source for knowledge. they suck. I broke ties with the original dealership Classic chevrolet in beaumont texas. I brought the car to them before due to a problem with a chaffed wire from the battery. And a slow leaking tire. Neither they could fix. And never heard of a dealership that could not fix a tire.
