I don't remember where I got mine. It would have been Auto Zone, O'reiley's, or Harbor Freight I think.

I have one since at times I will use a Mobil1 or Bosch Premium filter if I cant find a kn. Its better used for removing the filter because sometimes I can be tricky getting the filter out of it. Gets wedged.

KN here. My car is slammed and the nut on the filter has never had a single mark on it from touching anything. Plus that nut is really helpful for easy install and removal.

Thanks for the warning but both of my C5s are lowered and yet to see a scratch on the K&N oil filter.
You are correct for my Eagle Talon TsiAWD though. Ever since I went with a 3" exhaust I can no longer get the K&N filter installed.

Do filters have size designations so we can find the wrench without bringing a filter with us?

I did too!

And Auto Zone has a whole wall of oil filters that you can use to verify the size of the tool pre-purchase.

I can verify that because I have 4 cars and a motorcycle and not one of them uses the same tool for their oil filter.

Auto parts stores usually have plenty of filters on their shelves, which fit your car, that you can test fit a wrench on...

AMSOIL carries both their own proprietary line made in partnership with Donaldson and Wix and they also carry Wix and Donaldson filters.

For my Vette at the track, I normally use the Wix 51042. For my street vehicles I normally use the AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter as I feel these provide better filtration. If I still used my Vette for daily driving and used short oil change intervals, I'd probably still use the Wix like I do at the track.

Do not use with power tools. .-3'''' End Cap Oil Filter Wrench. Warranty: -Lifetime warranty does not cover abuse.
