I,ve developed a wrist pin noise on the right bank. To do any work I,ii have to remove the engine. Chevrolet says you have to remove the front cradle to remove the engine. Any help would be appreciated. Everybody have a great year. Also will and LS-3 bolt in without any problems. There does,t seem to be any new LS-1 out there. I found one place, Jasper Engine rebuild out of Indiana that sells remans. for 4550.00. Anybody else that sells new or remans, thats trustsworhting
i install motors practically everyday.gm has ls1 still fore sale.but they have gto oil pans on them .i would upgrade though.i just put in a lsx engine in my c5

Here's some information that was posted here on the forum about pulling the engine from the top instead of the bottom. Here is another link to the procedure forum member cajundude used to do the swap.
I removed and replaced my ls1 last month and did it from the top. I used cajundudes write up as a guide and it wasn't hard at all. Just need to take your time and label all the connections and bolts and it will make it easier when going back in with new engine.
think ahead as now is the time to make any decision about performance or upgrades. you can do the ls3 but you also have to factor in the new tune and any parts needed to do the swap
write it all out, put the $$ down on paper.
there is also the inexpensive route of buying a used ls1 from a camaro/corvette and just installing your cam so the tune is correct. if you do a compression test and the engine looks healthy this would be a very inexpensive option that would cost under 2000.
