So,

When and where was the first time you saw your current C5 or one you have owned in the past? Do you still remember that rush of excitement you felt when you saw it and drove off in it? Well i do, and every time i look at it i still feel that way. Share your pictures if you happened to snap one of the moment you first saw it/purchased it. Here's mine

My wife was getting aggressive chemo treatments 3x per week in Indy (70 miles away) in 2000. Certain rounds took 3-4 hours to get, then she had to stay under observation for a couple of hours, so those were rather long days. I would frequently go to the grocery store or find other ways to occupy time. I was seriously thinking about a Corvette and went by a nearby dealer to "window shop". They had just gotten a used '99, which was exactly what I wanted. We negotiated a deal and I traded my pickup on it right there. I still have it.

I bought my car sight unseen and had it shipped from Colorado to Arkansas. The first time I saw it was when the 18 wheeler came over the hill and pulled up in front of my house. It was an exciting moment. I wish I had a picture of it on the truck, but I don't. This is a picture from yesterday after giving her a bath.

Met up with Benny and some other San Diego Corvette owners, then drove up to the Block of Orange meet back in the summer of 2006. His FRC had just had a 402 and an S-Trim installed at the time, and hoooolllyyy crap did the car pull. He left my lowly little A4 C5 in the dust.

A few months later, my C5 was in the shop for some body repair, and I was given the chance to ride shotgun with him on a couple of mountain runs.

It was love at first sight, and at first ride. Then, summer of 2011 rolls around, and he's looking at picking up an AC Cobra replica. I had been pestering him ever since, telling him to put me in his will for that FRC, and he gave me first dibs, at a price I was somehow able to afford. I sold my C5 hatchback(6spd this time, as my dad had my old A4), and September of 2011, Ole' Grey had become mine. Although this time, she had a few more mods under the hood.

I will be buried in her, or we will burn into the side of a mountain when they try and take my car keys away.

The day I picked her up and the first time I'd ever sat in the driver's seat...

Next to my dad's A4(my first Corvette). He also has a silver '98 Convertible he just bought recently. But no pictures of that yet.

New custom plate.

I was internet shopping for a corvette for about 6 months. I was having a hard time finding what I wanted (6 speed convertibles are hard to find!).

Finally I found a 2003 6 speed yellow convertible, immaculate condition, low mileage, decent price, etc. that was 6 hours away from my house. I called the dealership on my 25th birthday and put a down payment on the car on the phone that day. They said I called them 4 hours after they posted the car online.

I had the salesman take a picture of me in the car right before I loaded it on my trailer and took it home.

For several months I almost couldn't believe that I actually owned the car. Everytime I walked into the garage I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I love the car to this day, I am glad I made a good choice. (and no, Jeep Grand Cherokees are not good at towing a car hauler!)

First time I saw my current C5 was in pics posted in the C5s for Sale section by the then owner. First time I actually saw the car in person was when I got off the airplane in Atlantic City, NJ and met the owner at the airport for the purchase.

First time I saw my car was an Autotrader ad.

That was in September of 2010 and the BMW dealership wanted $18k for this 49k mile example. It was exactly what I wanted but too much for my pocketbook. Patience paid off and in December they called me to see if my last offer was still good. I flew out to OKC and picked her up 12/30/2010.

First day home,

And today, not a lot different,

Except for the wheels and this,

I purchased my C5 new in the summer of 2004. I was limited to dealer stock since GM stopped production on the C5 design and I was looking for a Mag Red II convertible with black top/interior. That is until I saw what was eventually going to become my Medium Spiral Gray Metallic convertible under showroom lights. It was love at first sight!

The day I brought her home...

Today, after meeting all the passionate Corvette owners on this site...

I decided back in 09 that as soon as I got a promotion at work I would buy an 02 or later z06. It wasn't my first choice in vetted but the best of what I could afford. Mid summer 2010 I got my promotion and was also really wanting a 1st gen viper so I decided I would search for an 02+ z06 and an early viper and buy whichever I found first. Within the week, I located a very nice low miles 94 rt/10. However, it was 3 hours away and by the time my off day came around it was sold. I then found a nice local 02 z with only 9k miles on it, but the dealer wouldn't come down from there too high price of 28500. About another week later I found my car, an 02 z with 13k miles for 26k. I got the dealer down to 25500 and that was that.

Here is my car at my parents house the day I bought it

Spotted mine in a dealer lot one morning on the way to work, it was the exact car I had dreamed of. Couldn't stop thinking about it and bought it a few days later. It's still one of the happiest days of my life, eclipsed only by the birth of my son.

Here's the crappy dealer picture that I saved:

And the day she came home:

I saw my 2004 Comm Ed here on the Forum's C5 For Sale area in Sept 2010 - fell in love with it but the price was much higher than i could afford. Now it's Feb 2011 - I had forgot about the car until I was on the Forum one nite and a new ad popped up for the car and the owner had dropped the price significantly. I immediately contacted the owner - since the car was in Los Angeles and I live in NH I told him I had a cousin out there who would test drive the car for me. After test drive my cousin called and said the car was perfect. I sent the $ out and in 4 days the car was mine. My cousin put it in storage for me for 3 months - flew out at end of May and drove it home to NH. Car had 13k miles on it - now has 36k . Absolutely love this car - can't imagine ever wanting to replace it !! Here's the ad from the from Feb 2011

Here's a pic from the trip bringing it home - pic taken in Sedona, Az

Here's a pic of the car at home with my 2001 Coupe that I have since sold

These are two of a few photographs from the dealership where I bought mine. So these pics were my first view of my car.

When I arrived and saw it on the lot, I totally forgot I was looking for a Torch Red 'Vette

Then they delivered it at my work!! I was kinda.....proud.
