I'm having a blast driving my car today and decided to stop by a local used car dealer with 6 2012 Grand Sports for sale and eyeball them in all their colorful glory. The salesman walks over and sees my car and looks at it inside and out, then says "How much would it cost to have a car like yours?" then asks what year is it?
Anyway, I couldn't really come up with a sum. So the question is what is a good guess at what a guy would have to pay a custom shop to build it?
Things done
Head and cam engine
all bolt ons,
Longtubes
LS7 clutch and LS6 hydrualics
C6 Z06 suspension
ZR Hood
Widebody fenders
18x12 rims C6 Z06
Complete custom interior
Roll bar
Sparco's
Double din w/Kenwood
12" woofer/stealth box
1200watt amp
custom instrument cluster
LED tail lights and Corner lamps
If you went to a shop, what do you think it would cost?
Not including car cost. if you do include car please say car included.
Edited... I know most would poo-poo and declare it's only worth $5000 or less cause it's not stock. BUT in reality what would a guy(say one who lost his mind) and drove his stock C5 to the shop and said do this for me.

That is a ruff question Rick, You would know better than anyone else, Don't expect the dealer to pay you anything close to what it is worth. They mostly will insult you with what they would give you.
Mr.Bill
I would guess well over 20K plus the cost of the car..
I guess the easiest way to answer that question would be to add up your receipts. I have tracked all my maintenance and "personalized customization" costs on a spreadsheet and I try not to look at it too often. The maintenance costs have been very low, however the "personalized customization" (don't like the word "modifications") are scary!
Since I don't ever plan to sell or trade I don't worry about it. However, I am very excited about the new C7. I am getting that "gotta have it" feeling I also had with the C5 so I look forward to adding a high HP C7Z in the upcoming years.

Just to be conservative assign a labor value of say $80/hr for the time you spent on the installs. Mechanical labor rates around here are close to $95-100/hr and body shop rates are $55-60/hr.
I've had a custom car shop/chassis shop for many years. You'd certainly be looking at 16k-20k including parts if it werent a corvette specific specialty shop. Corvette specific shops may come in under 15k, but not by much.
I added most of it up, it came to approximately $14,900 without some labor included so I could easily round it up $16,000 conservatively. Add the car at $14,500 plus $16,000 customizing and the total comes to $30,500. Not too bad for a custom car the way I want it.

No that's bad at all considering I've got over 20,000 in one

My 2001 coupe with TTi stage X kit, forged motor, TPE widebody with full custom interior & stereo, MCM CF hood and awesome black paint work is worth about $30k on the high end. I have over $50k into it and my car is under 50k miles on the odometer. I have resigned to just keep it and buy something else.

It will be mine! "The Butt" is back...
My version is to quickly stash the receipts in a file and add it up in my head but rarely look at the receipt and question my sanity in doing those jobs.
As for the C7, I am right there with ya. We shall see what reveals tomorrow!

I'm resigned to keeping mine also. I'd be lucky to get $20-$23K and then spend the rest of my life regretting selling it. Better to just accept what is, and continue improving it even more.
Yea, I'd want a C7...... but I'm sure if I was behind the wheel of one...in the back of my mind I'd rather be in mine. Some relationships?connections with your cars are like that.
