I traced my problem with the ABS down to a broken wire. it's broken really near the connector.
can I buy the connectors and splice them into the existing wiring harness or is there a better way to do this? I was able to "butt splice" the wiring but it didn't hold up too well and ended up coming loose again. not much room between the break and the connector.
Typically, the connector itself clips into the plastic (weathertite) housing. You can take a safety pin or really small screwdriver (think jewelry/glasses repair) and release the clip to withdraw the connector itself. They are crimped on the end of the wire. Either try soldering like that or get new connectors and redo both so they're the same length. Connectors usually do not have a GM part number, but a friendly mechanic could probably match it--they usually have an electrical repair kit that has that stuff in it for use at the dealership.
