Hurst Short Shifter - Which springs are you using. I am getting one from xtreme this week. Just wanted to know any helpfull suggestions. I am going to install it all by myself in my "Z".
What springs are you using. I was told to use the mediums.

On both our cars I swapped out the stiffer inner springs with the softer ones. I left the stiffer ones in at first to get first hand knowledge of how they felt. After a week I did the swap, very pleased with the results.

I left them stock. At first it was a little hard to shift but after 2 or 3 days you get used to it and i think that if you changed to the softer ones all around it would be too easy and maybe a little limp. I dont think i will go heavier but i may try it when i got nothing else to do. Leave it stock first and then go from there.

No, you do not to remove the console again, just remove the shifter **** and then pop the boot off and you can access the hex screws to change out or adjust the springs.

Timely info! I'm installing mine next week. Guess I'll go with the medium Hurst springs to begin with. Can always go softer or stiffer later on. And yes, I'm talking about the SHIFTER here!

Got my hurst in today. All factory...stiff and hard. I hope it softens a bit.
Anyway...I have a guy that makes custom rubber car parts. He made me today a hard rubber insert that fits precisely as the factory one. It is snug inside the closeout boot. Just like factory...
AS QUIET AS FACTORY TOO. No vibration too.
I took a ride with and without....QUIET AND SMOOTH. I may sell them.

I went w/ the stock springs, and have noticed them softening up a bit since the install (thanx kh24), if your not in the mood for exercise, i'd use the softer springs, but i'm pretty content with the setup i'm rolling with now.
