Default MAF screen/intake choice

No photo yet, but new owner of 02 ZO6 Black/Black and already curious about a couple of things. Trading in Y2K FRC that was pretty heavily modded.
Anyone remove the MAF screen on a new Z? ...and had a Vortex clear box on the FRC and looking for impartial input based on experience as to whether to go back to Vortex or try the Blackwing. Got a week or so before the break-in period will be over, so got time to think about options. Appreciate any and all comments.
Congrats Corvette on finishing 1,2!

Doug
